what about taking the runner up from the last vote
i'm up for
GIANTS
carn't be many 6ft blonds
now Wes do as your told you know DJ likes every one to know HE'S the BOSS
no just normal
So was that an order, a suggestion or a request to stop using???
Is this the appropriate way to deal what ever... surely a pm explanation of your concerns would stop people like me getting involved in what appears to be interfering .......either moderate or don't, no inbetweens that can be misread. Please!
It was a semi-serious suggestion, in reply to the comment which asked for suggestions.
Mmm.... the thing is, it's not always that easy. Some concerns are clearly moderator-only, some are personal-only, and some are kind of in between.
For example, I can and do make personal whinges about (say) Fletch's addiction to smilies, but that's not a moderation matter. On the other hand, if a poster persistently screwed up formatting or quotes, then it's a bit more of a grey area - we usually try to fix that sort of thing to make stuff more readable, so there is moderator impact, but it's not really covered in the rules. So in that case, some sort of comment might be appropriate.
With regard to Wes, I said this once before - the moderator side of it is the tendency for his posts to "look like" adverts, and the personal side of it is that I simply dislike overuse of visual tricks to attract attention - and got flamed for it then too, as I recall. I'm not sure why everyone's getting so worked-up about a simple suggestion, it's not like I called him a Ceroc teacher or something nasty like that.
(Yes, that too was a joke)
picky, picky, picky
well you put a stop to it cos we can only use 12, which is a pain in the **** when you quoting some one else's post.
shame I don't have a smile with one finger in the air just for you
yuv ya!
got to make sure I have all my allocated smiles
Ah a separate thread to discuss the under use of smiles and fonts.
This is where you can stick it to DJ for his thought police tactics of moderating
Go on hit him where it hurts
At the risk of being serious for a moment (don't worry someone else will post something else and it'll pass.....)
It has been mentioned in the past that normal text can be read "at work" without arousing too much suspicion. Large brightly coloured fonts asking about dancing, on the other hand.....
