My hubby can't do Milton Keynes with me on the 6th, so we may join you at the Bullring on the 5th Fletch, as he would like to join in again too. I'll still try and do MK as well with Jan if I have enough hugs left

IT IS LESS THAN ONE WEEK TO THE HUG WEEKEND!!!!!!

It would be wonderful if some of you lovely Forum People, who live nearby were able to join me in Milton Keynes NEXT SUNDAY and support this Event...

So far there has been little feedback on this Forum and on Facebook for MK, so PLEASE consider coming along.. I will be going along in any case but it will be most difficult without some support. (ie, breaks for loo/drink)

.. please give it some thought..
    Many thanks

I was the same when we did it the first time, I'm not very tactile with people I don't know well, but after forcing myself to do it for the first couple of hugs, I loved it. You only have to be brave for 5 mins. then the rewards that follow, far outweigh that.
Besides, I need something to do whilst i'm not dancing.

    Re: Free hugs

Guess I am the opposite to you Cru I was able to jump in straight away with both feet..(!), eerrr sorry arms... I am very tactile, it is part of my personality (not usually with strangers though I might add)....

..I guess overcoming the fear factor takes a few minutes, but when people are approaching you for a Hug, its because they have taken the first step, not I.......

I believe that it is them who are being brave.. not myself..

Have a fab day tomorrow.. I know you will and so will I on Sunday..

    Re: Free hugs

Well, no free hugs in Dundee as usual, as there's just two of us wanting to do it. And I'd be far more comfortable if it was a few more people. Hey ho, I'll just have a sad, hug-free day as usual.

Good luck to anyone who is doing this - Beo and I, even if we had been up for it, just aren't well enough (we've been doing synchronised coughing and sharing the Olbas Oil for the last week!).

Anyone who is doing it, wrap up warmly, and I suggest you take some cold prevention stuff as there are lots of bugs out there at the moment.

Hope you have a wonderful time, and hope to join in another time.

Thanks Twirly... hope you get well soon. A hug especially for you...

.... and yes have invested in new pair of thermals from M&S's to keep my essentials nice and cosy..

    Re: Free hugs

Just about thawed out from a great day hugging in MK with jacksondonut, Cruella and LYD

It was so lovely to hear people complimenting us on doing such a nice thing and quite funny to see some of the looks we got (which were actually few and far between) Even those who didn't want a hug went away with a smile instead

I'd definately be up for doing it again

    Re: Free hugs

I had an awesome time with Jacksondonut, Cruella and HelenB. I'm sure it wouldn't have been so fun if it wasn't for them...

Some of the looks we got were priceless... that lady looking at you HelenB with that undescribable look of about 8 different expressions in 1... made us laugh, then trying to explain it to Jacksondonut, cracked me up.

Some of the kids were cool, especially the little cheeky boy...

Overall a very worthwhile, rewarding and fun day... and as HelenB said, even if they didn't get a hug, most people either laughed or smiled at what we were doing so at least for that brief time they were happy which is what it's all about.

Will deffinatley be up for doing this again!!!

Big hugz to all!!! (or i can give you a real one at Southport in Feb )

    Lloyd.

    Re: Free hugs

    well done to you all!

mcjester and i met up with cj and yliander in edinburgh on what must have been one of the most cold and windy days for ages and despite my again initial reluctance i found it really worthwhile - especially when a woman came over just said i need a hug and almost burst into tears on my shoulder. I am also supposedly on vistaweb across the world hugging this guy cos there is a webcam constantly trained on princes street gardens!

so thanks guys and il see you all at southport!
