For me this Southport was very different to any other, it was more chilled & relaxing.

Didn't do any classes. Decided to reserve my energy for dancing with all those great dancers. Had some fantastic dances, also some not so good. Why do some men dance in the blues room when they have no idea what it's all about. No clue as to the tempo, dance as if they have the whole room to themselves & inevitably who gets stamped on, elbowed etc etc etc

BBQ was fabbo & great to catch up with everyone. Crumble was deeeeeeeeeeelicious with custard

Great to see so many forumites & from all over the country.

Indian summer, couldn't have asked for better weather.

Clive in CJ's kilt, he looked pretty ok, Wonder what he's wearing to work today

    Another fab Southport

I'm not in a hurry to dance with him again.
sounds rather conscientious to me - I've lost count of the number of times people on here have complained about people having bad breathe

I only discovered that I had a meter in the car on the way out as I pullled the 2nd key for my chalet out of the envelope to give the security guard and found the card - have put it away safely for next time

It was lovely to meet Trisha and Joseph properly and talk to them about their background back in Birmingham.
I missed this again - will have to make sure I get there in Feb come hell or high water

it was my first time to Southport and it was truly the best weekend ever, although my feet would beg to differ ! Already booked for feb, and the count down has started

    My first Southport

Came up with others from Exeter and had a great time. Lots of good dances, friendly people and interesting music.

Hope to go along to the next one in Feb.

    And hello to the forums

    Re: Southport Sept 06,the aftermath.

My first Southport having ventured afar from Kent. I had a fantastic time, found a more relaxed atmosphere than other weekenders I have been on which was much needed after an absolutely horrendous 12 hours plus worth of travelling to get there!!! The Jango classes were brilliant - Amir is one of my most favourite teachers. I have done previous classes of his and also a muscality workshop in London. Friday night was absolutely brilliant, I had loads and loads of dances and it was so nice to see men standing around the edge of the dance floor as well as women!! The gender balance worked very well for me. Hopefully I will return next September. Unfortunately the distance is a little far to attend every event.
