If you build it, he will come
Went a party on Saturday, the host seemed run his whole life based on this philosophy

He had built a stage equipped it with mikes amps lights etc

I asked him who playing. He did not know. He had built the set and assumed the artists would come

And they did, an amazing evening

    Re: Inspirational Quotes

One of the most meaningful things I have read and has always stayed with me.

If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.
If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive.
If children live with pity, they learn to feel sorry for themselves.
If children live with ridicule, they learn to feel shy.
If children live with jealousy, they learn to feel envy.
If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty.
If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.
If children live with tolerance, they learn patience.
If children live with praise, they learn appreciation.
If children live with acceptance, they learn to love.
If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If children live with recognition, they learn it is good to have a goal.
If children live with sharing, they learn generosity.
If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness.
If children live with fairness, they learn justice.
If children live with kindness and consideration, they learn respect.
If children live with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and in those about them.
If children live with friendliness, they learn the world is a nice place in which to live.

The government seem to be using this to guilt trip people into stopping smoking, lose weight and to stay on the right side of the law at the moment.

I almost PMSL this morning, when in response to one of those adverts I heard some kids say "We should tell Mummy about this, or we'll end up farting as much as she does".

    Some of my favourite quotations:

Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all. - Dale Carnegie

Try not to become a man of success but a man of value” - Albert Einstein

"Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world."-Albert Einstein

"People say I’m crazy doing what I’m doing Well… they give me all kinds of warnings to save me from ruin When I say that I’m okay they look at me kinda strange – John Lennon"

I owe my success to having listened respectfully to the very best advice, and then going away and doing the exact opposite. ~G. K. Chesterton

No Man is an Island - (John Donne, Meditation xvii)

“No Man is an Island, entire in itself - any man’s death diminishes me because I am involved in mankind”

In other words we are not isolated but that as humans we need each other.

    Cool thread......
