When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us. Helen Keller
The average woman would rather have beauty than brains, because the average man can see better than he can think. ~Author Unknown
A pessimist is a man who thinks all women are bad. An optimist is a man who hopes they are. ~Chauncey Mitchell Depew
A man chases a woman until she catches him. ~American Proverb
Women always worry about the things that men forget; men always worry about the things women remember. ~Author Unknown
And finally:
If women didn't exist, all the money in the world would have no meaning. ~Aristotle Onassis
When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us. Helen Keller
"We can do no great things, only small things with great love".
Every day is a gift - that's why it's called the present.
Since I am a self proclaimed Geek.. here are some computer / technology quotes
"Once a new technology starts rolling, if you're not part of the steamroller, you're part of the road"
"Computers are good at following instructions, but not at reading your mind."
"Measuring programming progress by lines of code is like measuring aircraft building progress by weight. "
and my personal favourite
"Programmers are in a race with the Universe to create bigger and better idiot-proof programs, while the Universe is trying to create bigger and better idiots. So far the Universe is winning."
My favourite techie one:
"There are only 10 kinds of people in the world - those who understand binary, and those who don't."
I like...
"There are no stupid questions - just stupid people"
"Yeid unto temptation: it may not come your way again!"
"Just killing time untill time kills me"
pah, not a patch on this geek poem ...sniff....so romantic

'When your life flashes before your eyes, make sure you've got plenty to watch.' ~Author unknown, from a television commercial
I dont think this is inspirational...!! but something my mum used to quote when I was a youngster...
Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit....
and
If wit was sh1t, you'd be constipated....
(dont think Ive heard these ones for quite a number of years... )
"Love at first sight may be all right, but it might be wise to take a second look".
On the other hand:
"Don't underestimate love at first sight. Many of us might not pass a second inspection".
And for the totally cynical among us:
"Love is the quest, marriage the conquest, divorce the inquest".
Some Dancing Zen (as opposed to Zen Dancing, which is apparently a real activity) which I've spotted on this Forum over the years:
- There is more to dancing than interpretation.
- A Hotshot Dancer is someone who does something you think they shouldn't do.
- The one true dance is the horizontal tango.
- Leading & following are fairly simple in principle, but we complicate them in practice.
- Dance with your partner, not at them.
- The hand closest to the lady's body does the leading.
- Yes, it was only a dance, but the word only seems so wrong.
With apologies to CJ, DavidB, and The Sphinx
" " - Marcel Marceau
- Whoever said there wasn't?
- Only to another Hotshot. Hotshotism is a way of life
- There is more to dancing than sex
- The more you learn about lead and follow, the more you find there is to learn
- And for them
- Your body does the leading. Your hands help to commuicate.
- There's no such thing as 'only' a dance. (You'll be saying it was 'only' a love affair next )
"The one important thing I have learned over the years is the difference between taking one's work seriously and taking one's self seriously. The first is imperative and the second is disastrous. "
Margot Fonteyn
