I've had a very busy week. But I've still been on here and been posting. However there are other 'time wasting' things that I haven't been doing - eg watching TV. On the other hand, its been a tiring week and once I've started reading threads I've stayed on here too long and missed out on some sleeping time.
It made me think about my use of time and whether I'm on here (or other forums) as part of my 'leisure' time wasting, that I might spend doing other equally inactive things like watching TV (and reading threads here can at times be just as informative and entertaining as watching TV) or time that I would otherwise be using more profitably.
In other words, if I was on here less, what else would I be doing?
Aside from 'work' for those who post from the office - what would others be using their time for if not on this forum?
I would be utterly transfixed by the point in space about 2 foot on front of my eyes and I would stare at it for hours and hours and hours .. until the puddle of drool I was sitting in grew too cold and I needed to get up.
And people say That too much computer use damages social skills and imagination
but it's all hypothetical really.. Using Time NOT on the forum ?? haha it;s like saying don't use AIR for BREATHING really
me ? addicted? who said that??
(actually [ sensible mode engaged ] I would probably be out walking with my camera or reading .. but that's too normal for a sad freak like me to admit to [sensible mode disengaged ])
Loads and loads of golf during the day and more dancing at night.
Hmm, so the forum is keeping some of us from more useful things?
For me, its mostly replaced TV. I'd rather read and talk about dancing. And interact with other people in discussions. I don't get any of that from watching TV. So when I really don't want to do housework, or if I'm on the computer to check emails/do other stuff, I open the forum... and of course once you start reading threads...
However, this week I stayed up too late when I should have been sleeping. Yes, my choice. But not the most sensible of choices.
Anyone remember 'Why don't you?' - maybe I should turn off the PC and go and do something less boring instead... (except I'm not actually bored).
the washing up
Watching TV mostly - instead I just multi-task (i.e. do both) and pay much less attention to the box...
Housework

Age is a question of mind over matter, if you don't mind, it doesn't matter
Leroy (Satchel) Paige (1906-1982)
Mickey Mouse's girlfriend, Minnie, made her film debut, along with Mickey, in "Steamboat Willie" on November 18, 1928.
That date is recognized as her official birthday.
can't afford it, spending all my money dancing
actually - it is very hard these days to find someone to clean for you - was thinking of getting a cleaning contractor in once a month as I seem to follow Lynn's approach of letting it build up thank goodness I live alone
What the heck, priorities priorities ............. family, friendships, dancing, forum, housework (at least I have them in the right order now )

Yes, I admit that now it's a luxury. But it's not that expensive. Even getting someone in every other week would be helpful. I originally got my cleaner when I was working full-time (and sometimes extra hours), plus doing my massage/aromatherapy course. I was studying for a whole weekend every third weekend, plus massaging/studying about 3 nights a week and at times on the weekends off. After about 6 month of this, I was frazzled, and my flat was a pigsty. I got a recommendation from friends.
Hmmm....
Sleep would probably be he first thing...
I tend to stay up late in order to post with you people in a different time zone.
But other than that, I would:
Clean my room,
Actually get around to doing my washing before I have to consider re-wearing garments for the third time
Finish re-writing a screen play for a film festival. (been on the To-do for 3 months now)
Finish writing the guys styling syllabus for workshop purposes...
Re-write the musicality and advanced movement syllabus so it makes gramatical sense...
Maybe do some work when I'm a work... instead of bludging...
Did I mention sleep?
Read a book.
I was without an internet connection for 3 days while at a dance weekender, then the following weekend i was depirived again because the person I was staying with didn't even have a mobile phone
What did I do this weekend, well apart from compete... I read a book.
What would I be doing if I was not on here? Still having ideas, but keeping them to myself, and not subjecting them to public scrutiny, correction and criticism, not learning whilst the opportunity to do so existed.
What I would be doing:
Need to be doing (In no particular order);
Washing
Clean Room
Banking
Sleep
Other stuff i have definitely forgotten
Want to be doing (and probably will get done before the more essential stuff above):
Dancing
Checking if my bank balance can afford me to buy new dance clothes - then buying them anyway despite the answer!
Watching my DVDs
Reading books
Meeting friends and family
Theatre & Cinema
