I did actually; and what a wonderful instrument this is. I first heard one played by a German lady not too long after WW2 when bridges were being built and there was fraternisation and some intermarriage between the defeated Germans and British Army and CCG personnel. I was but a kid, but an abiding memory of a couple of Christmas times.
Later, an accordion player was the leader of a little three piece at the local Chapel Hall (in Hollywood would you believe?) where, as a callow youth, I was inducted into Old Time dancing by some older ladies. Why, they must have been all of thirty odd years or so !!
a noisy audience detracts somewhat from the performance though!!
