Not at all , but expectations would normally be if something is out of the ordinary then it is maybe worth mentioning. If its not i.e. a normal spread of people with the same ratios as the general population then - whats the point. Anyway, its not just that i was objecting about - its way too general a statement to apply to ALL Ceroc worldwide, especially where middle class is a dubious term at best. I feel peeved by being grouped in with the rest of the human race - and many agree with me

Perhaps something phrased as in the enclosed link would be suitable http://www.ceroc-hatfield.freeserve....oc/market.html

Ceroc appeals to a wide range of people across all groups. However the predominant market is aged between 19 and 35 and would be classified as the ABC1 type.
    thats perfectly fine

Surely that's just talking about the age range that Ceroc™ market at? Wouldn't it be more useful to talk about the typical age ranges you actually find at Ceroc™ venues? I remember several threads on the subject but can only find this one.

    ETA... and this one

Oh, come on! That's b0ll0cks. Any Ceroc venue in this country I bet I can show you at least three people in their forties for every person under the age of 25.

As Lou said its the market Ceroc is aimed at - every venue is going to be very different. Your ratio is probably correct for the majority of Ceroc venues but certainly not all. As far as marketing quotes go, that one is fair enough - just remember if you are over 35, Ceroc do want you they just dont market at you directly

Quite so. Every business in the world knows that the audience their marketing is targeted at differs from the actual customer base.

People who Ceroc do not make up a normal spread of people with the same ratios as the general population. "Middle-aged, middle-class" seems like an accurate description of the norm to me.

Aye, and there is a distinct racial bias aswell So describing the typical Cerocer as 35-50, white middle class may well be descriptive of 80% of Cerocers ... BUT, has anyone any real stats to substantiate this assumption?

If I want into any Tesco Metro Im pretty sure the first 100 people I would pass would be a similar demographic to the first 100 people in a Ceroc venue. I've never noticed anything "out of the ordinary" at any Ceroc Venue, it looks like a normal spread to me.

What is middle aged ? 40 to 50 ? and what is middle class ? People who earn more than the national average and whos parents did too ? People who own their home ? what ?

    Valid comparison, or what?

Last time i went to an old people's home I noticed that the demographic was much older than that of the average Ceroc venue...

    Re: Ceroc on Wikipedia

Just noticed this entry for Ceroc in the simple version of wikipedia. Seems fairly complete but some of you experts may want to pad it out slightly.

Just as an aside, can anyone think of any other word with more redundant, silent or impossibly-difficult-to-pronounce-in-the-given-order letters than "Schtroumpfs"??

Right, I've done some hacking-around of this entry now:
Ceroc - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I think it's getting pretty close to reasonable now, anyone else want to contribute?

I'd particularly like it if we could improve the Australia and New Zealand sections, I've not touched those for obvious reasons.

Who is Norman? Apparently he went to Michel Ange Lau's lessons with James, but that is the only mention of him in the entry.
