    The moment is spoiled when...

    Picture the scene -

I've fed the tribe, done the chores, 'filed' the paperwork, hidden the dust and cleared the way for 5mins of peace.

I've cracked the ice into the glass, poured a healthy measure of JD and splashed on the coke.

As I sit down to enjoy that first, and best, taste - what do I see?

A horrible nasty fly doing the backstroke in my drink!

I hate that! What spoils your 'moment'?

If you were a true scotsman you'd pick out the fly and shout

"Spit it oot ya wee b@st@rd!!"

    Billy Connelly I believe?

What spoils the moment for me.. well two things, one Finding a hair in the dinner I'm about to eat or (as happened tonight) just as I'm dishing up the meal you drop it on the floor

Other things, Getting into the bath and just going "aaaaaaah" when the phone rings !!

ok, for a non foodie related one..

You're in a bar, you see a girl you like.. after about 30 mins of hesitation and will I / Won't I you pluck up the courage to speak to her, you walk as calmly as you can across the floor, you walk up next to her , you speak.. trying hard not to squeak or stammer , you ask her if you can buy her a drink

and she looks you up and down then turns to her friend and bursts out laughing.

women can be so cruel at times.

Doesnt bother me in the slightest - I just ignore the phone.

Nowadays the answer machine will record their message and 1471 will tell you who it was if they dont leave one. So why on earth would you care if the phone rings? weirdo

Necessary disclaimer: This only happened to me once. 18 years ago.

Relaxing after a long gruelling day at work, finding it harder and harder to stay awake, eyelids start to slump, sleep begins to descend....

... when I lose control of the car on a bend, go into a fairly nasty spin, and end up wide-awake and shaking in the drivers seat with the car stuck half-way into a ditch. Luckily no-one was hurt

    Sun is over the yardarm

    You poured a large G and T

And Mr. Black and Decker, next door decides to try out his new electric plane

You've just cooked dinner and your son calls and says he's out for the night. You stayed in to cook his dinner cas you felt that you needed to spend time with him.
AND there was a good freestyle on but with driving its too late to go
AND its not the first time

Have to agree wholeheartedly on this one... Id like to say Im not a slave to the telephone anymore.. if I dont feel like speaking to anyone or Im up to my eyeballs in other stuff... I let it ring, and get back to the person when I am ready. Simple. If its an emergency, then they will keep trying...

Small confession: my mobile is always with me, night, day and also in the bathroom... I find it a nice relaxing place to have a conversation and catch up with people... (just make sure I DONT drop it.. )

Okay... so Im strange.. or am I??
