the Christmas lights of Lonely town
are shining just for me

Winter Grey
Grey dawn reigns today
Seeping through the curtain
Silent, Slowly but surely

Snowflakes
Lying in the winter Sun, keeps me warm throughout the day.
But the nights are so cold and lonely, as your 3000 miles away.
Thoughts of you lying there alone, Oh they cause my heart to break.
But, My Love, in this cold I don't cry tears. Oh, no, I weep snowflakes.
I picture you there in front of me, as the Sun beats on my face.
When I'm lying there in your arms, I know there is no warmer place.
The more I think about your touch, the more my body seems to ache.
My Love, how I need your hugs to help melt my snowflakes.
Bells ringing, Carol singing: gifts around the Christmas tree.
The fairy lights, the stars at night span the miles between you and me.
Snowflakes fall around the world, as we celebrate Christmas Eve.
Reminding us that no matter how far apart, how close we will always be.

Finding Courage
Today is a day of celebration,
of time gone by,
of happiness and truth,
why is it, when I stare out into the room,
I see myself asking, who am I?
I see the others, drifting slowly in their melancholy.
Asking all children to join them in their games.
I see them excited over the act of giving gifts.
Not understanding or adhering to the truth.
Who are you to walk on the rooftops?
Who are you to understand the divine?
Why do you become fixated on the time gone by,
instead of looking to the future,
finding what it is you wish to create for yourself.
I have spent a day, a night,
a lifetime staring behind me.
Now i turn my sights ahead.
Looking wih hope towards the future.
Until then Adeiu.

Brittle, frosty night-time fades
As lazy sunrise creeps along
Piercing wind that chills my bones
Still coldest January lingers on
See the pale moon in the dawn
Riding high and fading fast
Reflections of the rising sun
In glass my memories are cast
Shot of white light, silver beams
Through winter trees bare like my soul
Startling bright just for a moment
Piercing blinding makes me whole
Walls that mirror golden light

A Novice/Lower Intermediate
Well who would have thought I would take up ceroc
My friends reacted with both amusement and shock
But I wasn’t deterred and have been going for a while
Gained a few moves and hopefully gained a bit of style
I try to make it to ceroc a few times every week
Note down the moves – though it makes me feel like a geek
Beginners class starts and I like to do my bit
As there’s normally more women – hardly ever an even split
Bit of freestyle after and I get to dance
Grab a quick drink, maybe, while I have a chance
A good intermediate class – now that’s one of the things that I seek
Learn a new move or two and maybe even gain some technique
If it is a good lesson then I feel the teacher I must thank
But then we start freestyle and my mind normally goes blank
Given time the moves gradually flow into my brain
And I feel like I am getting somewhere again
Neckbreak, wurlitzer, maybe a left-handed comb,
But then the last song finishes and its time to go home
