I had a "Birthday" thread of my own this week and I liked it very much. I vote to keep them

Although, if others wanted them in another area and the thread was locked after a week that would be fine with me too.

Yet another comment that makes my work collegues look at me as if I'm a mad person.

Seperate thread idea is a good idea, then for people who are

grumpy. Bah humbug.

They can (when doing search for new posts) choose to exclude the birthday section.

.......But I do think that they should only be started on the day, and maybe locked by moderators a week after the birthday - anyone who's on holiday and misses them can always send a PM.

I was travelling on my birthday - so I was really really pleased to see my birthday thread had started the day before - it was so nice to go away with all those lovely birthday wishes with me
