Giving the internet up for a week !!!

Don’t worry not for ever

I wondered if anyone has put their home PC in a box and put that box in a car and left the car with the box and PC at Bognor for a week so that cant waste loads of hours doing basically nothing on the internet. I.e. have a free PC house for a week !

I live for the internet !

Need to cut down on this addiction

You're talking to a guy who went on holiday to Amsterdam with his IPAQ ,a solar charger and a blue tooth mobile so I could sit out in the sunny canal side pubs drinking Ice cold heineken or Amstel and check my emails/ surf the web whithout fear of my batteries going flat !!

even better when I found a free WiFi Access point and I didn;t have to use GPRS over the mobile

umm that would be asking me not to talk to many of my friends for a week - given time differences/different countries/contienents/hemishperes to give up the internet for a week is just not an option.

that said I do give it up when I go away and am unable to have internet access - in the last 10 years that has been proberbly been a total of 3 weeks although I have never had to go to the extremes of Beo to get access - mostly staying with friends & family who had internet connection

i suspect that as I am lazy that my time with out internet in the last 5 years will increase dramatically when I go on my travels round europe etc - why waste time looking for an internet cafe with there a new places to explore

I don't actually think I could give up the Internet for a week. If my computers weren't working (and I was on holiday). I'd probably try using my PSP to surf the Internet. Failing that: my phone.

I just find it too useful (and useless at the same time) to live without.

I would LOVE to give up my computer for a week, and my TV too (not that I watch it very often anyway) - not just the internet. To go away somewhere into the countryside and just have peace - bliss!

I did intend to take a break from the forum for a lot of July, due to other commitments, but so much of what I have had to do has been at PC I've wanted to read about dance as a break from other stuff. I went away last week for 36 hours and came back to 30 emails (not work, a mix of voluntary work and social emails).

Will be without a PC later in July so will have a proper break then.

Nah!! Can be without for a few days if I've got something better to do (ie on a Weekender) but more than that ... uh-uh!!
