If Italy hadn't won last night, I'd agree with you. As it is, France and Italy have both got 2 easy games among their last three, so if you assume they have 6 points in the bag from them, Scotland need 2 wins out of the last 3 as well. Ukraine at home, Georgia away, then Italy at home?

Best I can see, is that we go into that last game against Italy needing a win to stay in it. Unfortunately, France and Italy play their last games 4 days later than us.

Ah well, I was right. At least we're not relying on Israel and Andorra to qualify though...poor result for England as well yesterday.

So, we have to beat the World Champions to qualify for the tournament. And if it were anyone other than an Italy side who only needed a point, I'd give Scotland a decent chance, at Hampden. Ooops...

Wouldn't it be lovely for once, to have Italy score in the first ten minutes, retreat into their defensive shell as usual - then have two dodgy penalties awarded against them and converted successfully in the closing 5 minutes?
