really ashamed it took me so long that one.. as I count seconds as elephants ever since seeing that.

    Have actually danced .. on my back.. in the same park as they did :clap;

Time for a horrible, depressing, bleak, yet strangely funny (occasionally) film...

"Resolve is never stronger than in the morning after it was never weaker. "

    "What are you doing here?"
"Well, I was standing over *there*, but that didn't seem to be working out for me, so I moved over here, but this one isn't much better. "

"You know at birth when you cut the umbilical cord - what would happen if, uh, well if it was never cut?"
    "I don't need this. I just..."
"Well it'd be embarrassing, wouldn't it? Especially at my age. "

" He pulls a knife on you, you pull a gun on him. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's how you beat Capone". I was watching this the other evening.

    Re: Favourite Movie Quotes

I see the Radio Times has published a Film Buff's 'Top 25'. (Can't find it on the RT site but go here)

I see that Armageddon is on the list.

Now notwithstanding some quite good stuff in the early parts of the film, it degenerates into the worst sort of comic-book travesty when all known laws of physics are abandoned when they get onto the asteroid/comet/whatever it was supposed to be.

    The film is sewage.

The RT guy who picked the films says that "snobbery doesn't belong to the film buff".

Has he met any film buffs? (Or any other 'buffs', for that matter.)

He goes on to say that Armageddon is important as representing producer Jerry Bruckheimer's "90s excess".

Well, pick Top Gun, then. It may have had a fairly predictable story line, but at least it didn't descend into gibberish.

Even then, I don't agree that that is what would make it 'film buff' material. There's plenty more buff stuff from the 90s - how about Thelma & Louise? Supporting cast, director, writer, subject material - all make this perfect buffery material.

A film might be unmissable for unusual reasons - uncredited cameo or early roles, or trucks travelling along coast roads in pirate movies, or the words 'Props Dept' painted on the bottom of a barrel - but no film is in a film buff's list if it is just bad.

Heh. Top 25? Even in a 'leave your brain at the door' list I dont think that would make my top 25. Steve Buscemi is good in it though.

Is titanic on the list? a film about a disaster so boring they had to put in a bad guy (only thing missing was a maniacal laugh and a twirly moustache) and a love story .

    Steve Buscemi always is...

I enjoyed Armageddon. Once. Nice mindless eye-candy & explosions. But it wouldn't even get on my top 25 list of mindless-eye-candy-with-explosions movies.

Are you calling the film boring or the disaster boring? The film was crap, sure, but for a good Titanic film, watch 'A Night to Remember'. That one's great.

Only thing that saved me from walking out of it was going with a group of friends, including one who was laughing out loud at all the wrong bits and getting death stares from folk taking it all to seriously Made the whole experience more fun.

yeah Leonardo going under the waves me and my mates were like "Whoo!!"

If you like the banter that some ppl give in movies you probably like the film "Mystery science theater 3000" where they show an incredibly bad movie and they have 3 ppl just ripping it to shreds, very very funny.

    Old joke:

What do the titanic and the 6th sense have in common?

    Icy dead people

    Re: Favourite Movie Quotes

I dont think so, but I dont like him cause I saw him in an interview and the persona he gave off was like "I'm an actor, I dont need to answer your questions. I am above you cause I am so good" and I dont have time for ppl like that.

EDIT: Whoops it's off a film
