    Re: Favourite Movie Quotes

Alas - these days, it's more a case of 'when do I have time to see films?'

Haven't been to the cinema in weeks, and my DVD collection is gathering dust. Had an abortive attempt to watch Daywatch last night (too many interruptions), and I'm trying to get my partner into the new Battlestar Galactica (some success) but... just not enough leisure time right now.

Anyway - as a film buff / collector - I bow to your own expertise...

    Re: Favourite Movie Quotes

Crossover from the Taxi criteria thread:

    "Cornetto"

"Did you know that...on several occasions, he touched me?"
    (Pause)
"That wasn't true. Made it up. Sorry."

    "Don't forget to kill Phillip!"

Oh I could go on and on with this one...

BTW, my third film was Duel, the Spielberg one with the truck driver and the harrassed Dennis Weaver.

It is. I haven't seen it since my video chewed up my copy and I haven't got around to replacing it.

    On a completely different tack:

Bond: "You expect me to talk Goldfinger"

Goldfinger: "No Mr Bond, I expect you to die"

Yay! "The Right Stuff" it is indeed. I also love it when Dennis Quaid says: "Who's the best pilot y'ever saw? You're looking at him!"

Depends. If you're a girl I wouldn't worry about it.

    The Exorcist

"Your mother sacks cooks in Hell"

well hardly suprising .. the poor girl threw up the pea soup they made for her earlier. If My pea soup was that bad I'd be sacked too

Every girl I've shown it to has loved it, and gotten hooked. Including Ms Straycat264, who doesn't even like science fiction...

Oh - and being l'il Kaylee is certainly no bad thing, I'd have said...

Do you know, I was convinced I was going to be Kaylee.

(Well, apart from the "machines just kinda talk to me" thing. They do talk to me, but they're telling me to eff orf.)

And I turn out to be Jayne instead. The truth will out....

Probably more accurate that I talk to the machines...well talk in the annoyed sense, along the lines of "bloody computer", "flipping office paperclip" etc.

    Re: Favourite Movie Quotes

Apparently I'm Simon (I wanted to be Inara, but my dresses aren't long enough).

This isn't technically a movie quote, cos I haven't seen the film so I don't know, but it's in the book the film was made from:

"A nut by any other name would smell like feet"

Was that your typing, or an autoreplace !?!

That reminds me: IIRC the DVD has the reshot version of Pete's "It's 4 in the f***ing morning.." rant, with the word "funking" used throughout. to Peter Serafinowitz for delivering the lines so well

    Innerspace I believe.

BTW, I'm also Jayne. But only just. I was nearly the Operative. Well, always knew I'm a bit scary I wanted to be River, because she's scary and weird, but I'm too mercenary...

    Yes
I'm not 100% sure but I think I may have mixed two quotes into one.. The denis Quaid character is erm.. "Tuck Pendleton" and the Martin Short Character is "Jack Putter"

Now I remember Tuck doing that in the mirror, and then later getting Jack to do it too.. But without watching the movie again I can't say for sure if he actually said the line above as I wrote it...

*holds the innerspace dvd in his hand and wonders if he's got time before he needs to get ready to go out*
