    OK...

We all know that there are lies, damn lies and statistics, but as this is beginners' corner, what I'm going to use for my calculations here is your average Ceroc night, not blues room at Southport at 4 am. On that basis:

    MJ tracks are 110 - 160 bpm
    A track lasts 3 - 4 minutes
MJ moves are between 3 and 13 counts. Each count is actually 2 musical beats.

    So if*:

    Avg track: 125 bpm
Avg length of track: 4 minutes (this is probably on the long side, but hey, that makes up for faster but shorter tracks)
Avg count per move = 7

    then:

    500 beats total in a track = 250 counts = 35.7 moves

*calculations brought to you using refined and hi-tech SWAG methodology v7.1b

I only have to learn another 13.2 moves and I'll be able to lead an entire track without repeating myself (that'll be about August 2007 if learning curve remains at same gradient)

Ah SWAG methodology .. I use that in my work a lot. Where Scientific Wild *rsed Guesses are the norm.

I also use FUDGE factors in my computer programs. FUDGE of course standing for Freely User Definable Geometric Equivalence
