    Re: Embarrassing dance moments

Apart from a couple of times where inappropriate clothing loosens itself on the dancefloor, i can only think of one embarrassing moment. I was dancing with S 'n' E to Fire, he led a move that had as walking towards each other with our hands at crotch level. He inadvertantly forgot to lead our hands out of the way On contact, we both jumped back with blushing cheeks.
Dancing to 'Fire' has never been the same since.

He swears it was an accident!!!

    I like that!

I totally forgot about this one too:

You know these guys from Oz are just far too energetic when it comes to MJ! Well, as most of them happen to be experts in Aerials, I trusted this guy who was travelling the UK and showed up at the Wrexham venue. (trusted him too much me thinks)

Anyway, we started dancing together and he gave me a step by step instruction on what he was going to do to me. After getting it right a couple of times, again he led me into it - jumped up from first move position, swung me up the left hand side of his waist, then, legs up into the air so now upside down, then he swung me up and over his right hand side. Again, back up, down ready to go up his left hand si......oops - BANG! The prat didn't quite get me there and ended up kneeing him in the crown jules, and even more embarrassing, whilst I was lying on my back gasping for air, he.. fell on top of me. What that looked like from a distance but have been hysterical. There's us both, lying in the middle of dance floor gasping for air!

My advice - avoid dancing with Australians! They think they know it all!

(Still at least the huge bruise on my backside, sustained at Southport, had faded - only took 2 weeks!!....you see - it could have been worse!)

PS I can spell embarrassing but don't seem able to edit the title!

Other than the occassionally having my specs go flying (usually due to a ladies chest rather than her arms), my most embarassing dance moment involved a lady at Southport. Asked her if she knew the half moon, to wqhich she said she could follow any lead. So we did it to perfection ending in a dramatic half moon pose at the end of a track. Got loads of applause (I thought hey that was good but not that good), only to realise it was because she was not wearing any underwear. However, the spectators were very appreciative of the display. For some reason she avoided me for the rest of the weekend!

the very very first time I went dancing (1st time round not this time) I put a lady into a spin, stepped too close and when she spun round she punched me on the nose sending my specs flying.

I think she was pretty embarrassed too .. but I was the one with the bright red nose !!

    Re: Embarrassing dance moments

Along the lines of knock-out I remembered one, too. There was a night at the Auckland Casino when my former dance partner and I appeared to have only one goal, knock the other person out. First she caught my elbow, then I got hers on my chin but took it like a man. A little later I she landed another one on me, from below at the nose. Again, staunch as a man has to be I just shook my head and said all I need is cold water. So I walked off to the bathroom. But it appeared as though I didn't make it. Just before the door I had to support myself at a pole. One of the security staff noticed it and when I slowly sank down because my knees decided it was time for a rest, she called for help and I was taken to a resting room and they called the casino doctor. It took a while to convince him that I had just been knocked out but was actually fine. Needless to say my friends were not only relieved when they were called out to pick me up but also did not let a chance pass to tease me. On hindsight, I'd have been a lot more embarrassed if I had knocked out her instead.

I received the above PM after falling flat on my back on the decking at Southport recently. I pride myself in the way I fell though even though I did feel extremely embarrassed Shame no one had a video camera handy, I could have made some money on that program on the TV

BTW I did not hurt myself (thank goodness for all my padding)

Oh yes, reminds me of a similar incident at Beach Boogie a few years ago, though it was blues, 4 in the morning, so no fast moves, but I reckon I was most embarrassed, because I just didn't notice anything!

    Re: Embarrassing dance moments

    Two incidents spring to mind;

    1. I lead a lady ito a lean move and felt the seam of my trousers split under my groin area. I managed to dance the second half of the track with my back to the stage to protect my dignity but lacking a spare pair of trousers it ended my night dancing.

    2. At a pre-comp dance (Blackpool) I was leading a lovely forumite in a dance when quite by chance I managed to pop her bra fastening. i was able to walk her off of the dance floor quietly to allow her to recover her dignity

    Re: Embarrassing dance moments

Reading UP's post reminded me of my most embarrassing dance moment:

It was the first time that I went to Hammersmith freestyle and I decided to wear a stick-on bra under my top. During a dance with a lovely dancer halfway through the night, I felt the bra start to peel away but carried on dancing hoping it would stay put for now. As the dance continued, it came completely off and drop to my waist and just as the dance finished and I was lead into a lean - the chicken fillets dropped onto the floor!!
