I thought this thread was going to be about pipes and drums in Edinburgh.

We are quite restricted in Inverness for getting a tattoo done but would travel to get a good artist! I say artist because i only have an image of what i want and not a drawing. I would like to see the tattoo on to paper before the real thing!!

A guy at work had a tattoo done in Inverness and it went wrong! parts were filled in that were not to be and the shape was nothing like the picture, he has to live with that now or get something on top to cover it. I am now a little nervous!!!

I think tattoo's that are done right and not too big (on ladies) are just fab.
Come down to Aberdeen and see Stix: he's a world renown tatoo artist with several awards to his name. Draconian Tattoo

I used to work the door of a not particularly upmarket club Wish I had a picture of the classy love heart tattoo I saw on an arm once, with the words "I'd rather f*** than fight" on it.

I took a drawing I had done myself to the tattoo artist. He drew over it with some form of ink (don't know what) then put it on my skin was basically like a tempory tattoo, let me have a look in the mirror to decide whether looked how i wanted it to or was right place/Size. Then he just followed the pattern on my skin.
My only problem is I know wish I'd gone slightly bigger.

What a good idea, did you have to ask for him to do that or was it something that was suggested to you?

Such a naughty little flower... I had never heard the words "slag tag" until my son explained to me it was a common term for the lower back etchings in the SE England.

I like it. I must remember it for future use. A fair number of the support staff where I work (for a few more days, at any rate) have them...

It's a mystery to me. My stepfather has a whole bunch of tattoos and they are all the colour of Parker Blue-black ink nowadays. In a few years Amy Winehouse, for example, is going to look really manky. Not to mention David Beckham. Ick.

    Re: Tattoo

Interetingly no guys have said on this thread "I love women with tatoos"

Is it another case of women dressing for women... even though a few women here, are also not so keen on tats?

Its not a very feminine thing is it, and the base of the spine fashion tattoo was only cool for like 5 minutes (i'm getting the lingo, did you notice ).

Saying that, really fancy tattoos that portray an entire scene and cover most of a part of a body are still cool - it says "confidence". Quite the opposite of a japanese letter at the base of your spine that says "my friends have got this too"

I had a deprived childhood. My Mum would never let me have those lick and stick-on tat'ooos that all my friends were buying from the local sweet shop. She said they were "common" -Now, I understand that she may have been right.

Looking at pictures of her from yesterday - barf!

But she could clean up her act and that would help a lot. But the tats are a different matter.

Megan Fox has a stupid tattoo on her right shoulder blade.

It looks like it came from the Eric Cantona Book of surreal sayings.

    Snap!

My Mum didn't let me have my ears pierced either, till I was 15, cos children with pierced ears is common too, don't you know!
