    Jams-U-Like - forum utter drivel

Why, oh why, oh why as strawberry jam is so revolting, is it often the only flavour you can get in a Little Chef?

I try to buy low sugar jams as I taste more of the fruit flavour. Going back to "conventional" jam - it just seems similar sugary gloop.

    Do you jam?

I can't stand strawberry jam either - bleurgh!

Personally I prefer 'conserve' to jam - OK, it may sound more snobby, but it tastes sooooo much better!
Apricot and blackcurrent 'jams' have to be my favourite

Or St Dalfour - all fruit jams - they are so yum! I've even recently bought a special jam spoon so that the knife doesn't have to go in the jar. I voted for lemon curd, but it has to be home-made - and therefore only lasts a few weeks in the fridge. You don't have options for my mother's home-made kumquat or rosella jams ... but I've only seen this fruit at Chinese grocers, so guess it isn't a big thing in the UK

Seeing as marmalade ( ) and lemon curd ( ) are both on the list, and neither of them are jam, where's the options for marmite ( ), vegemite ( ) and peanut butter ( )?

You've also missed plum jam, which is often used to bulk out cheap jams. For intance, the "raspberry jam" in a Jammie Dodger is actually plum jam. Always read the label, I say. Lime marmalade or Nutella for me anyway...though the St.Dalfour stuff is very good, except for the blueberry stuff.

I only really like jam if it's Bonne Maman apricot - or Marmite-flavoured.
