    Your level of dancing

People here often say that forumites tend to take their dancing more seriously than the average modern jiver. I thought it would be interesting to find out, so get clicking. Oh, it's multiple choice, just in case you don't fit into just one category.

My answers are a little all over the place, because it depends on which style of dance your talking about.

I know you meant MJ, in which case I'd say I only go to Freestyle, and I'm happy to just be a social dancer, but when you look at Lindy, then I'm still very much learning, so my answers are very different.

Looking at the results so far, I'm sure we can all agree that the respondants are a completely representative cross-section of the dancing public.

I see that at this point, we have 6 people who've entered national comps and 5 of them have won them! I was wondering - would the solitary loser who hasn't managed to win a national competition of them care to make themselves known? I'm not sure we want that kind of character on the forum...

Well it wasn't a UK national comp so I don't think it makes any difference

And there was no need to rub it in!!!

*wanders off muttering about elitist UK dancers.....*

What ever happened to "I've been placed in a national competition?" Came third twice! But then I'm still trying to constantly improve my style and technique.

Funny id see them as totally unrepresentative, an option like

'I'm constantly trying to improve my style and technique' is meaningless and could apply to anyone. It would of course apply to me but i didnt tick it as it asked for your level of dancing

I've received a PM from Gus telling me it was him. And so at this point, I think the wheels of justice need to turn...

    {courtroom scene}

[Young eager barrister, wearing a t-shirt with the words "I'm Just a Beginner"] The Forum Persecution Service rests it's case, m'lud.

[Judge Franck]Gus Stanley Fletcher - you have been found guilty of the heinous crime of posting inflammotory, um, contentius, er... you have been found guility of stirring it on the forum without a national title. It now falls on me to pronouce sentence.

{Judge pauses, looking serious. Then, to gasps from the crowd, he puts on a black jacket. (Closer scrutiny shows the word Ceroc printed on one side, along with a BetFair 888 advert on the other)}.

You will be taken this day to be remanded at Ceroc HQ. In the evening, you will be taken to Mary Ward House, where at 7:30pm, you will be semi-circled to the left until thoroughly annoyed. You will not pass GO, and you will not collect £200 pounds. May God have mercy on your posting privileges.

[Gus]You can't do this. It's a stitch-up! I was only being Official Devil's Advocate! And I would have got away with it, if it weren't for those meddling kids!

Dance most evenings and always trying to improve my style

There is always so much to learn. I have been dancing 4 years and am still learning. It is quite comforting to know there are others out there that see it like this just sunday I was talking to someone who has been dancing 10 years and he said exactly the same thing

Presumably all the 20 people who ticked this are somewhat sleep-deprived by now, and possibly unemployed?
