    More Itunes help

    Hi All

All of a sudden every jewel cd case I print comes up portrait and not landscape... not the end of the world but annoying.

Tyring to think back to when it first happened and cant remember, prob before xmas and maybe when upgraded to a newer version of itunes, but maybe not. Might have been from when I got this new laptop.

Try to change printer settings but more often or not itunes freezes and i need to shut down.

Does anyone know if this is an itunes glitch???

    cheers

    Russell

Never had any problems, Russell. Do you get the window asking what it is you want to print ie. CD Jewel Case Listing, Song Listing, Album Listing etc?

When this window comes up for me there is a "page setup" tab in the bottom left, if I click on it I can change portrait/landscape etc

    Right here, thinking... "I dunno..."

As it's going to be the Windows version that Russell's using, that leaves me with few clues...

I'd guess that iTunes wants to decide for itself whether to use portrait or landscape depending on what "theme" it is using... Perhaps it is being stopped from doing this by a setting in either the page setup, or the printing preferences?

Or in other words... "I dunno..."

I've just checked with Itunes it appears to default to portrait for OSX as well as windows - you'll have to change the orientation in the page setup before you press print.

I don't think you can set a print preference for this

On my Mac, running the latest iTunes, trying to print a CD sleeve, the only "theme" where whether you've specified portrait or landscape in the page setup actually matters is "Single side (Black & White)".

In all other cases, when iTunes needs to do landscape, it overrides what you've specified to always print landscape.

I'd hope it try to do something similar in Windows, but Windows printing is a rule unto itself...

I re-installed itunes without luck, problem still occurred. Then tried printing again the following day and it has resolved itself

Fingers crossed it stays that way

    Re: More Itunes help

    Hi,

Is there an equivalent to iTunes that runs under Linux?

I'm looking for something that will present a list of available downloads from a site (say BBC podcasts) then I select the ones I'm interested in which are downloaded and "synced with the target mp3 player. Oh. The target player is an iRiver H340. I like making things difficult.

To be honest, the ITunes-like menu selection of content to download would be fine.

I can use LifeRea to download mp3 content to the PC then copy to the mp3 - but my oh my, is it clumsy.

    Thanks

    Clive
