Hi, I'm Emma..I've been dancing for juuust over a year.

I mainly dance in Sarf East Lundun (cos that's where I live), and like FC didn't know until I started to dance it was possible to have so much fun sober . I now dance about two to three times a week...though I could give it up any time, honest *shudder*.

My ambition is to have as many outfits as Sheena

    Cerocing good time!

Hi I'm Sandy and have been dancing for about a year. I think Ceroc has made a huge impact on my life and never thought I could ever enjoy dancing as much as I do now. My whole wardrobe is bought with ceroc in mind! I would love to dance every night of the week if I could and make a real effort to get to as many of the Aberdeen parties as I can. I've tried lots of other hobbies and none of them have come close to the fun I have at Ceroc. It's been a great social event and I've met a lot of really nice (some very interesting!) people.

I long for the day when I can dance like the best of them but really enjoying the challenge of trying to get there.

By the way Steve, I did actually try some belly dancing a few years back!!

One of the big Ceroc highlight this year will be going to the holiday in November with Lorna, Bill and several others from Aberdeen - soooo excited! (no idea how I'm going to pay for it yet?? belly dancing classes?? think not!).

    Cheers

    Sandy

    Hiya,

my name is Lorna and I have been teaching Ceroc for about 3 and 1/2 years now.

I went along to Ceroc with a mate of mine who'd been going for a few months. I just thought it looked really cool and wanted a shot. I'd never danced in my life before and I certainly never thought that I'd be up on stage teaching it with Bill two years later.
After about a year of dancing I was asked to become a taxi dancer and a few months later I just happened to be in the right place at the right time and was asked if I would be interested in becoming a Ceroc teacher. The rest is history!!

Highlights so far for me :

    1. My first night teaching on stage. It was brill and I did it with balloons pinned to my butt.

    2. Judging at the Ceroc champs in London several years ago.

    3. The annual update in London when I got so pissed with Franck that I was late for my flight. Not good at the time but looking back we had a ball!!! (you had to be there)

    4. Teaching with a balloon up my front for 9 months, well that's what it felt like. I managed to teach until 3 weeks before I gave birth and was back on stage 4 weeks after. Now that's dedication!

    5. Sorry, getting all lovey dahling on you now and that is having the pleasure of Bill's company on stage every week. What more can I say!

    6. Finally, the one which is still to happen and that is this year's Ceroc holiday in Las Palmas. I was so flattered to have been asked to teach and I am sooooo looking forward to it. It is going to be a cracking holiday guarenteed. Why haven't you booked yourself on it yet? (plug plug)

    Lotsa love Lorna x-x

Mmmmmm....... I like rugby players. Even more so if they are trying to dance

Now do you think we could try to convert the likes of Jeremy Guscott, Johnny Wilkinson, Lawrence Dallaglio, Martin Johnson et al to the joys of Ceroc?

Oi you two!!!! May I remind you of David Howland (6' 4") and Vivienne Ramsey (5' 0"), 5 times World Exhibition Champions?

Anyway it isn't size that does it for me - it's those lovely, hairy, masculine legs!!!!

Sorry, Franck, we are going waaay off topic. :sorry

    By way of introduction...

Hi I'm David and have been dancing Ceroc for nearly 2 and a half years. A few years before that I did (and still dabble with) Ballroom & Latin. I wouldn't claim to be very good at either but have been going to Ceroc a couple of times a week for a while so have achieved some vague level of competence.

I most often dance at one of the 2 venues in Nottingham but have been known to venture to other venues in the Midlands (have visted Leicester, Daventry, Solihull, Kettering), and this year I went to Chance 2 Dance at Blackpool (first time I've ever been to a Modern Jive comp). Blackpool was also where I found out about this forum - there was a big poster with the URL emblazoned across it (plus the Scots contingent underneath it seemed to be having fun.....).

I enjoyed Blackpool (despite the hotel from another era) so am hoping to go to the Ceroc champs in May.

This is my 1st posting on this forum so be gentle with me...

    David

    Welcome to the Forum David....

.........nice to know that someone noticed the Forum Banners!!!! Glad you enjoyed Blackpool and that you hope to go to the Ceroc Champs in May, where a few of us from the Forum will also be!!! This time, come on over and make sure you introduce yourself - we are a friendly bunch. I'm sure Franck will let us have a Cerocscotland Forum Banner, so you will know where to find us. As if you wouldn't know where the Scots were anyway!!!!

Hi David - I think I had two dances with you right at the start of Blackpool, before the competition started. I was sitting on the next table with the London contingent - wearing my flashing t-shirt for competition.

Looking forward to seeing you in London - will try to grab you for another couple of dances

    Hi
My name is dale and I am from London. i have just started jivin 5 months ago. It is the best form of relaxation for me. Meeting loads of people and having fun is the best way of enjoying an evening.

I do a bit of salsa, line dancing, and some swing, but nothing compares to the energy from jiving.

Well I hope to be competing in May at the championships, don't know what to expect, but I am going to have fun doing it.

Just one question, what do you think is more important: enjoying the dance/music with a few general moves or should one try to put a whole routine of moves within the track being played?

Any advice from the seasoned dancers?
