Big welcome to you BHB!
Glad you're having fun
Hi everybody!
I've been lurking and reading obsessively for about a month and a half, so I think it's about time I registered and introduced myself.
I've been coming to the Woking classes for 8 weeks now, been bitten by the bug since about the 2nd or 3rd week, and now can't stop thinking about moves, and frame, and shoes, and balance, and floaty skirts, and posture, and shoes....
Hope to pick up as many tips as possible from all you Wise People, and maybe the odd dance from any Surrey people
Denise
Big welcome to you BHB!
Glad you're having fun
Have you tried Surbiton? Ewell? Guildford? Same franchise but a slightly different "flavour" in each venue. Can I recommend that you schedule a visit to each, in addition to your home-base at Woking?

I think you'll fit in just fine. I know we're caught talking about other things from time to time. It's not because we've run out of things to say about shoes, it's mostly a trap to lure other people into eventual shoe addictionOriginally Posted by BigHeadedBeginner
I think about them a lot too.Originally Posted by BigHeadedBeginner
Hi there BHB,
Woking is a lovely venue and the people there are really friendly. If you ever fancy going somewhere different, come up to Twickenham (straight up the M3 - would take you about half an hour) on a Monday night.
Apart from having our own lovely bunch of people and great teachers (Val & David), I taxi there every other week (the other taxi's aren't bad either ).
Come along and introduce yourself.
Hmmm .... i wonder what you would look like in one (do you have the legs for it?)Originally Posted by El Salsero Gringo

Oh and the odd discussion about dancing as well.
And... 'Wise People' ...?
This is a dance forum? :Originally Posted by Lynn

Wow, thanks for the warm welcome guys! I'm touched!
Colin, it's funny, we were just discussing trying another class, and Woking is closed twice this month, so we thought we'd try Guildford (and maybe Twickenham too, of course )
How do you find the different 'flavours'?
Are you sure your on the right forum?Originally Posted by BigHeadedBeginner

Easy for me. . . . I'm Ceroc Surrey crew (Venue Mgr at Ewell), and get regular feedback on how each venue is faring. You're asking all the right questions, and I'm sure that the forum members will be only too happy to make recommendations of venues that you'd enjoy.Originally Posted by BigHeadedBeginner
Hope to meet you on the circuit one day soon.

I live in surrey too and went to Dorking last night (tues) - not strictly ceroc I know but a good class from Nigel and Nina on dancing to fast music. Good level of dancing with a nice floor too... would recommend a look sometime. I will certainly be back!
