ESG has a point.
Charity events can be used by singers, musicians etc.. to further their own careers, or by rich people to make tax helping donations of their spare change so they can say 'yes i do a lot for charity' and by punters who see events like that as a cheap quality night out and who wont then go if the main act pulls out. Its all happened. Or. Perhaps Im cynical
Of course most of us really want to just help the charity and it wouldnt matter if it was a pie and eels buffet and a dodgy DJ who played nothing but 80's tracks and "Simply the Best" on the hour every hour.
