    Re: Lyrical Moments...

    Take away the sensation inside
Bitter sweet migraine in my head
Its like a throbbing toothache of the mind
I can't take this feeling anymore

Drain the pressure from the swelling
    This sensations overwhelming
Give me a long kiss goodnight
    and everything will be alright
Tell me that I won't feel a thing
    So give me Novacaine

    I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
    Don't know where it goes
But its home to me and I walk alone
    I walk this lonely street
On the boulevard of broken dreams
    Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one and I walk alone

My shadow's only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
    till then I walk alone

    Summer has come and passed
    The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends

Here comes the rain again, falling from the stars
Drenched in my pain again, Becoming who we are

As my memory rest, but never forgets what I lost
Wake me up, when September end..

I'm sorry now I killed you, for our love was something fine.

here's one I'm listening to just now.. it's quite short so it'll probably be finished by the time I end this sentence .. erm.. no .. not yet... .. ok it is now!

    "What a lot of fun
You guys have been real swell
And there's not a one who can say
    This ended well
    All those secrets
    You've been concealing
    Say you're happy now,
    Once more with feeling
    Now I gotta run
    See you all in hell
    "

It's a quite bluesy little number and incredibly geeky too rep for the first person who who's where it's from

    Once More With Feeling

(You even put the title in the lyrics)
    No!
It isn't right, it isn't fair!
    There was no parking anywhere!
I think that hydrant wasn't there!
Why don't you let me go....

    Bored of the things
    that you are.
    And now at the things
    that you were.
How does it feel to destroy
    everything by your guilt?

    Re: Lyrical Moments...

    it was a trick question

    well done..
Still on the same album.. (on random play.. a bit odd with the songs coming out of sync!)

    "Why’d you run away?
    Don’t you like my… style?

Why don’t you come and play?
I guarantee a great big smile.

    I come from the imagination
And I’m here strictly by your invocation.
    So what do you say—
Why don’t we dance a while?
    I’m the how to swing.
    I’m the twist and shout.
    When you gotta sing,
When you gotta let it out.
You call me and I come a-runnin’.
I turn the music on, I bring the fun in.
Now we’re partyin’, that’s what it’s all about.

’Cause I know what you feel, girl.
I know just what you feel, girl.
    DAWN
So you’re like a good demon? Bringing the fun in?
    SWEET
All these melodies, they go on too long.
Then that energy starts to come on way too strong.
All those hearts lay open— that must sting.
Plus some customers just start combusting.
That’s the penalty when life is but a song.
You brought me down into this town
So when we blow this scene,
Back we will go to my kingdom below
And you will be my queen.

’Cause I know what you feel, girl.
    DAWN
No, you see, you and me
    Wouldn’t be very regal.
    SWEET
    I’ll make it real, girl.
    DAWN
    What I mean, I’m fifteen
    So this queen thing’s illegal.
    SWEET
I can bring whole cities to ruin
And still have time to get a soft-shoe in.
    DAWN
Well, that’s great but I’m late
And I’d hate to delay her.
    SWEET
Something’s cooking, I’m at the griddle.
I bought Nero his very first fiddle.
    DAWN
She’ll get pissed if I’m missed,
    See my sister’s the Slayer.
    SWEET
    The Slayer?
    DAWN
    Uh-huh.
    SWEET
Find her. Tell her… tell her anything. Just get her here. I
want to see the Slayer burn.
    SWEET
    Now we’re partyin’.
    That’s what it’s all about."

    not forgetting of course

    (Loud ROCK ballad type music)

"Bunnies aren't just cute like everybody supposes
They got them hoppy legs and twitchy little noses
And what's with all the carrots?
What do they need such good eyesight for anyway?
    Bunnies, bunnies
    It must be bunnies

    Re: Lyrical Moments...

One of my favourite songs ever (being serious on this thread for once) - dancing to this with the right person can be ... beyond words.

Now that we're here let's take our time
    No need to hurry anymore
There's no other place I'd rather be
No other face I'd rather see than yours.

Hold me as only you can do
And dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love.

I'll follow you when you want to lead
    You'll follow me sometimes too
There's no other body I'd rather hold
My heart soul and body been waiting on you

Hold me as only you can do
And dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love.

Us geeks have to stick together.

The "Why'd you run away" song is my absolute favourite though - the guy's style, the dancing... it's just amazing. Love it to bits.

    Re: Lyrical Moments...

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
You been out ridin' fences for so long now
    Oh, you're a hard one
I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin' you
    Can hurt you somehow

Don't you draw the queen of diamonds boy
She'll beat you if she's able
You know the queen of hearts is always your best bet

Now it seems to me, some fine things
Have been laid upon your table
But you only want the ones that you can't get

Desperado, oh, you ain't gettin' no younger
Your pain and your hunger, they're drivin' you home
And freedom, oh freedom well, that's just some people talkin'
Your prison is walking through this world all alone

Don't your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine
It's hard to tell the night time from the day
You're losin' all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away ?
Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate
It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you
    (let sombody love you)

You better let somebody love you
    before it's too late

    Re: Lyrical Moments...

Smile, though your heart is aching
    Smile, even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky
    You'll get by...

    If you smile
    With your fear and sorrow
    Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
    If you just...

Light up your face with gladness
    Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
    If you just... Smile

    Re: Lyrical Moments...

The first time ever I saw your face, I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and stars were the gifts you gave, To the dark and the empty skies
    ~
The first time ever I kissed your mouth, I felt the earth move in my hand
Like the trembling heart of a captive bird, that was there at my command

I heard he sang a good song, I heard he had style
And so I came to see him, to listen for a while
And there he was a young man, A stranger to my eyes..
    ~
He sang as if he knew me in all my dark despair
and then he looked right through me, as if I wasnt there..

The closer I get to you, the more you'll make me see
By giving me all you've got, your love has captured me
    ~
Over and over again, I'll try to tell myself that we could never be more than friends
And all the while inside I knew it was real, the way you make me feel...

Warm sleepy moments waking up next to you
Feeling you close by by side
Nothing on earth has ever felt better
Than the feelings I've felt deep inside
    ~
Sometimes it seems that I never lost you
And that your not really gone
Cause I have this dream, this wonderful dream
And it just goes on and on
    ~
And if ever I get to see you again
Maybe this time it will work out alright
Maybe this time we won't say goodbye
    But only goodnight
With a love that won't end
If ever I see you again....

    Re: Lyrical Moments...

    Louis Aragon, Les mains d'Elsa

sorry for those who don't understand french, but this is my favorite piece of poesy and I thought it should be there...

the poet speaks to his love Elsa and ask her to give him her hands ...

    it says at the beginning

Give me your hands for the fear
Give me your hands of which I have dreamt so much (english grammar doesn't work here, can't really translate exactly)Of which I have dreamt so much in my solitude
Give-me your hands and save me

    and at the end:

Give me your hands to shape my heart
Where the world will be quiet for a moment
Give me your hands where my soul can sleep
Where my soul can sleep eternally

the musicality of the whole poem is just incredible...

    Re: Lyrical Moments...

thought id change the mood from love songs and go all lighthearted on you all!

thanks to nicola for this one - that was one funny night - with this and 'save a horse ride a cowboy!'

She showed up at my house half past nine
low-cut dress with a bottle of wine
She said this will be a night you won't forget

She poured us some drinks to get us into the mood
I reached for the lights, she reached for my tunes
She pulled out that Red Headed Stranger, I stood up and said

    Don't touch my Willie
I don't know you that well
Help yourself to some Haggard or some Jones
    Hell, or anybody else
I don't know what you heard
I ain't that kind of guy
Yeah so don't touch my Willie,
We'll get a long just fine

She said she never met a man like me in her life
Who wouldn't share his Willie on the very first night
I said it's nothing personal, don't take it so hard

I don't pull out my Willie for just anyone
There's a lot of other records that you can choose from
So let me make myself clear before you go too far

    Don't touch my Willie
I don't know you that well
Help yourself to some Haggard or some Jones
    Hell, or anybody else
I don't know what you heard
I ain't that kind of guy
Yeah so don't touch my Willie,
We'll get a long just fine

Keep your hands off my Willie,
    We'll get along just fine

    hmm dare I?

I dare.. Another Monty Python funny (if a bit rude )

"Sit on my face and tell me that you love me
I'll sit on your face and tell you I love you too
I love to hear you oralize
    When I'm between your thighs
    You blow me away.

Sit on my face and let my lips embrace you
I'll sit on your face and then I'll love you truly
Life can be fine if we both sixty nine
If we sit on our faces
    In all sorts of places
And play till we're blown away
    ."

    Re: Lyrical Moments...

    Ce soir, la lune rêve avec plus de paresse;
