    Football's coming home......

    To Australia!!

Thought I'd get in before our Antipodean friends who post on here, and just say how glad I am that I'm not English.

(Any non-football fans out there, nothing to see here, please move further on down the train).

9 games in a row without a loss. We'll come show you English people how to play!!

    Excuse me.....

    Or Welsh.

Since it currently looks like we'll be the only home nation to qualify for the Finals

Things England is still better than Australia at....

    hehe!

Things England is still better than Australia at....

    #1 Conkers
Both men’s and women’s world champions are English born and bred. Richard Swailes from Northamptonshire and Liz Gibson from West Sussex are the current holders of these prestigious trophies. No Australians even reached the semi-finals. Losers!
    #2 Superstars
For all their so-called superiority in just about every sporting field of note, English pole vaulter Brian Hooper still holds the World Individual Superstars title. Those who point out that this is largely because the competition has not been held since his victory in 1982 are just being negative.

There was nary an Australian in sight as Karen Davies and Alan Nash used their pedal digits in fine style to defeat all-comers and lift their respective world championship trophies. When it comes to fighting with feet, England are the true champions of the world.

    #4 Tiddlywinks
According to respected Tiddlywinks journal Winking World, Englishman Patrick Barrie is the undisputed master of the squidger (that’ll be the larger disc used to propel your winks). He owns the world singles title and shares the world pair crown with Ed Wynn. And there’s not an Aussie in sight. Winkers!

    #5 Air Guitar
London architect Zac ‘Mr Magnet’ Munro thrashed Australian opponent Dave ‘Super Dave’ Williams to retain his International Air Guitarist Of The Year title in Finland last August. Organisers praised Munro for his “improvisation and living in the moment”, as well as lauding his choice of The White Stripes Fell In Love With A Girl as ideal for virtual plank-spankage . We reckon his far superior nickname might also have had something to do with it.

Though it's not nice to gloat...

... an extract from the Sydney Morning Herald: (http://www.smh.com.au/text/articles/...4927805183.htm):

    WHAT THEY SAID

"IF WE WIN, YOU SUCK AT EVERYTHING!"
Sign held up by an Australian supporter on Wednesday night in London. After the Socceroos won 3-1, one stoic English supporter tried to console fellow fans on the BBC sports website: "At least we did better than we did against them at cricket - it was a 4-1 loss then."

"Aussies 3 Sheilas 1!", "KANGA POO", "ROO-BISH", "AUSSIES RULE!".
A selection of British back-page headlines after THE WIN.

"You'll never win the Ashes ..." was the chant coming from the Australian fans at Upton Park, followed by "Bring on your third team ..."

As soon as we lose to the English, they're gonna take it out on our hides, so I'd better make the most of this opportunity while it lasts.
