Thumbs up Midsummer Beach Ballroom Party

    Brilliant Franck!!! Thank you

Everyone I spoke to on Saturday said how great it would be to dance at the Ballroom again, especially since that is what it was built for. It is a most brilliant dancefloor and an absolute joy to dance there. A very memorable evening. I'm looking forward to the next one already. A bit of Midsummer Madness!!

hmmm going back into addiction territory there, Tramp...

We're heading up north to camp on a beach for the weekend. Last time I did it it was the most memorable weekend I've ever had (this place is sooo beautiful) so if it was anywhere else yes I'd consider cancelling, but not here. I've tried to attach a photo but not sure if it'll work...

Is there anything wrong with a spot of addiction??

Maybe cancel was the wrong word then. How about 're-arrange'. Since the beach will be there every weekend, but the dancing won't.

Anyhow, I have it on good authority that the weather 'up north' will be lousy on the weekend of the 21st June! Honest

    Hi T,

The point is that we go for the summer equinox - it doesn't get dark (dusky yes but not dark). We were initially thinking of going the following weekend but I've got tickets for Robbie Williams then... (yep, my diary's filling up four/five months in advance...) It'll be a minibus of us who are going so rearranging is slightly more complicated...

    You're welcome Marlene

The dance floor and general atmosphere are just too good to miss out on!

I am fleshing out the plans for the MAdSummer Party, and all I can say is that it will be even better than the last one! More dancing. Party 'til 2.00am in the morning, and then in the Patio Hotel for all visitors staying over
As it will indeed be Mid-Summer's night, I am looking into more little surprises to spice up the night... Definitely un-missable... Jayne, sorry you won't be there, but you are doing the right thing... Watching the sun set / rise on a beach such as the one on the photo with friends, has to be more magical than any Ceroc party and don't worry, we will be back (again) at the Beach Ballroom before the end of the year!

Just a thought; there is a massive stage - why not utilise it... I would think that sights like the tramp dancing with you, bill and brady (?) deserve a spotlight place - sort of like a dancing form of Karaoke.

Is that the show-off inside you talking Gadget???

I did say I wanted to spice up the night, not put people off

Having said that, I have been thinking of inviting some of the Blackpool / Ceroc Champs Cabaret / Showcase / Advanced winners to do a display for either the MAdSummer party or the Big night in Perth in August, so watch this space!

So here we are, tickets are now on sale for the Beach Ballroom Midsummer party... We already sold a subtantial number at the Aberdeen Party on Saturday, so if you are planning on going, don't delay any further.

Tickets should be available at Aberdeen, Perth and Glasgow venues. You can also buy tickets directly from me at the office by sending me an email.

The MidSummer Party will first and foremost, be a pure dancing extravaganza, on the best sprung dance floor in the UK!!!
There will be no special theme, to allow you to wear your best gear

Adam Nathanson will be teaching a guest class, and as promised, the night will hold a few surprises.

The night has been extended to 2.00am, to satisfy the diehards amongst us, and the plan is to go for a walk on the beach after the night, to see the sun rise (weather permitting )

To make it an even madder week-end, Adam will be teaching 2 Style workshops:

    Saturday 21st June 10.30am - 3.30pm:
Dirty dancing. (Numbers limited, no need to book with a partner)
    Sunday 22nd June 10.30am - 3.30pm:
Musical Interpretation. (Numbers limited, no need to book with a partner)

Tickets for the party are £10.00 and will almost certainly sell out, so don't delay
Each workshop is £25.00, but you can book a Style Special deal, for £50.00 for both workshops and the party.

Finally, for anyone travelling to Aberdeen for the week-end, the best place to stay is the Patio Hotel, which is literally round the corner of the Beach Ballroom, and offers a very good week-end deal (£26.50 per person B&B, based on 2 people sharing a room), simply quote their week-end deal, as seen on Scotland on Sunday newspaper. More info on their website:
    Patiohotels.com
Note, advance booking is a good idea as many people will want to stay there that week-end!

Forgot to mention that the workshops also include a buffet lunch, to save time and give everyone more time to relax between the 2 sessions. Buffet lunch is now included in the price of the workshops...

Quick update, it looks like we have almost sold out on the workshops, so if you have not put your name down yet, be sure to do so very soon...

What a feast of dancing!! And did I hear someone mention a beach party on the Sat night, after The Party? It could be a superb sunrise party or a complete wash out, depending on the weather! Well I guess a paddle in the sea would help to cool the feet down after all that dancing!!

Is it really the best sprung dancefloor in the UK? How lucky are we?
