I'm thinking of switching network, and was wondering if anyone has experience of the network "3"? Any advice you can give me on it is really appreciated.

Not personally - but lots of people i know on it don;t seem to able to await the day when their contract runs out ... says it all really.

My brother and his girlfriend (now wife) used the video-call feature a great deal. But they said the audio was so poor that they had to make a simultaneous call with their Orange phones so they could speak to as well as see each other.

That was a couple of years ago though... one hopes things are better now.
