I've had a few people tell me how good this film is. I'm really not a fan of James Bond films but with all these good reviews, i'm tempted to give it a try.

    Re: New Bond

    I enjoyed it in parts....

I wish they'd made the poker a little more realistic. What are the chances that in one hand, in order, there would be a flush, 2 full houses, and a straight flush! It didn't need to go to quite such extremes to have Bond win. (Yes, I know it's just a story, and at least they didn't have an invisible car!).

And like Mr James, I did find the bit after the casino event a bit dragged out and a bit of an anti-climax.

But overall, enjoyable, and I'd recommend it!

The action sequences are excellent, and the film generally flows well - it drags a bit towards the end, after the big poker game finale - which in itself is a little flat - but it's generally well worth watching. And it leaves quite a few things up in the air, which is nice to see.

    Good film, go see it.
I went on Friday. I loved it. The first Bond movie I ever saw was George Lazenby's only Bond appearance, On Her Majestey's Secret Service and Daniel Craig reminded me a bit of George - but is a far better actor.

The one thing I missed was the humour. Apart from the bit where Q was replaced by a glove-compartment

I saw it on friday and loved it (and not just coz of the dripping wet Daniel Craig ).
It did seem a lilttle unbelievable in places though.

I've not seen it yet.. but unless it has lots of James bonds, a Jimmy bond, Mata Hari , a nuclear bomb asprin and a cunning plan to make all women beautiful and kill all men over a certain height and a table for strapping naked female spies to then I don't think I'll like it

Not a massive Bond fan either, but saw the film last Thursday and loved it.

Didn't expect this to be very good, but really enjoyed it in the end. Daniel Craig is a very different Bond to the others.

The Casino scene's were crying out for Roger Moore, but other than that, Daniel Craig was superb!

I'm hoping to see Bond next wednesday (Orange cheap night) with a forumite that asked me.

But I know I'm going to get upset while watching the film as it was upsetting enough seeing the torturtous scene from the film trailer - by that I mean the bit where the Aston Martin gets destroyed. I was devastated - what a waste of a beautiful car. They could have given it to me and made me a very happy chappy.

Nah - it was fantastic to watch - & holds a world record for its seven rolls - it did not get destroyed in vain.

What was sad was the make-up & hair for Vesper - when she's getting ready & isn't 'wearing' make-up, she looks fabulous. Once she's dolled up, her red lippy seems to migrate around her lips & she looks too up and down and don't think her hair do does her many favours in her first outfit.

It had lots of beautiful lighting as well.

don't worry, they must have put it all back together again because it's sitting in a window in Harrods at the moment

There is no good reason ever for an Aston to be destroyed. As a HUGE car fan, I find it devastating.

I cried in "Due South" when Ray had to shoot and blow up his mint condition 1971 Buick Riviera.

Still, if an Aston has to die, then I suppose its gotta do it in style.

OK, I admit it. Daniel Craig is a fab Bond. Loved the film, shut my eyes in the gruesome bits, laughed in the funny bits and held my breath in the exciting bits.

Far, far, far better than the last Bond outing.

Oh, and Daniel Craig is also rather yummy

I saw it last night, and like everyone else really enjoyed it. Daniel Craig certainly does make a good Bond, a Bond for men and a Bond for the ladies.

One thing, if you go and see it, I didn't spot it myself, but towards the end of the film (not going to give anything away here) he sends an email to M, if you look down the Sent box list after he sent it, evidently the previous email he sent was entitled "Stationery Request"! Now, I'd love to see what James Bond's stationery request forms look like!

    1 Pack A4 Paper
    20 A3 Envelopes
    1 Book First Class Stamps
    1 Handgun
    1 Silencer
    100 Boxes Bullets
    1 Dose Highly Leathal poison
    1 Dose anti-venom
    1 Defibrulator..........

I cant see a stationery department stocking all those items, but a box of paperclips can be deadly - anyone seen "Daredevil" ?

I did notice the title of the other emails ... thought the scriptwriters or someone had had a bit of a chuckle deciding on them.

    Re: New Bond

I saw it on Wednesday and I really enjoyed it.

One thing about it though, I'm not sure about Bond playing Poker. From what I have heard about Ian Fleming, I'm sure that he'd have had Bond playing Chemin de Fer or Bacarat (as per "For your Eyes Only"). I'll have to have a look at the Book to find out.

Did anyone see "Mock the Week" recently? They did a round of "things never heard in a James Bond Film". My favourite was "Before you go Bond, please fill in this Health and Safety Risk assessment".
