livejournal has a free option, Clive, but I think you have to pay for the service if you want to download pictures.
Hello,
A friend is going on a trip in a few weeks and would like to keep a blog as an electronic diary of her experiences.
She wants to be able to log on from any internet cafe and just type in her content. She has very little technical knowledge beyond use of standard Office software.
She wants to be able to load pictures from a digital camera as attachments (well that's my idea really - so it is not absolutely necessary).
A nice-to-have - when she adds new content, an email alert containing a link to a new blog page, is sent to people in a pre-defined contact list.
The service must be free (of course!)
If I could give this service a label it would be "Yahoo Blog". What options does she have? (There is going to be a "yahoo blog" service - I know it, I just know it.)
Thanks
Clive

My Blog
I have spent a couple of minutes using flickrOriginally Posted by azande
Looks easy to navigate - I uploaded 5 images and have setup a URL alias which I have sent to some friends.
I need to time to see how sophisticated the album / organisation facilities are ... for example if I want to send images 5, 27 from album one images 3, 14 from album 7 as a single link to one person.
As flickr is linked / integrated to Yahoo I didn't have to set up another online account - nice.
Looks like it will do the job for my friend
