Can anyone help me please - a request from my son Jack :-
ThanksI want a desktop publishing type application for laying out newsletter etc. It also needs some photoshop type functions to play with images and it needs to be able to handle lots of different file formats. For PC – not Mac.

There's Microsoft Office Publisher, which is pants, but part of the MSOffice suite.
Quark Express is the heavyweight page layout program, but doesn't do good image stuff, you'd want Photoshop for that.
There's also Adobe's InDesign, for page layout - again a heavyweight aiming to challenge Quark.
You can download free 30-day trials of photoshop and Indesign from www.adobe.com
The best in my opinion is Adobe InDesign (both PC and Mac), not cheap, though there are some special offers out there.Originally Posted by Minnie M
Depending on what he's trying to do, it might be overkill, but I use it all the time. Check out the Adobe InDesign page for more info.
Franck.
There's an A.P.P. for that!
Big thanks will pass info on to Jack
