    Saturday Swings?

I don't suppose anyone watched last night's 'Saturday Swings' on BBC1 at 9.10 (of course not, all out dancing ) but I was distinctly underwhelmed. Perhaps I should have know what to expect from a BBC1 programme at prime time on a Saturday night with a bit of song and dance? It kicked off with a distinctly aged Andy Williams and went steadily downhill. An equally aged Paul Anka was brought in to give us a swing arrangement of 'Jump' (Van Halen), Mick Hucknall sang (I think it was) 'Every time we say goodbye' - (not as bizarre as it might have been), and so it went on. Jamie Cullum was weird. There was no partner dancing, just some smiling showgirls - I was hoping at least for some sanitised Lindy Hop Not much 'swing', more a mixture of anything they thought might go. Some nice archive footage of Ella, Nat, and a few others
Only worth watching imho (apart from Natasha Kaplinsky) for the marvellous Rat Pack number (what a spot on Frank Sinatra..)...

Just watched the video of last night. Like Tony Christie, Patrizio and Katie Melua. As for the rest......

Why don't they just show us a compilation of archive footage of the original stars?
