    Your personal top ten leads/followers

OK, so who's brave enough to name their favourite dancers? It doesn't mean they are necessarily the 'best' dancers just your personal favourites. Maybe to certain music, cos they are fun to dance with, you connect, have a similar style, whatever the reason.

    In no particular order:

    Paul Warden > WCS
Brady (Scotland) > feel a great connection when dancing.
Paul Harris > feels comfortable and has helped me loads to improve.
    Victor > Doh!
Tom Baker > for faster music, i always come off the floor out of breath!
Phil (Yuko's) > So smooth. Definately one for Latin tracks.
Franck > Definately fun to dance with.
Roger Chin > Amazing lead, his moves always have me smiling.
David Barker > Likes to play and challenge you.
Yann > a french guy who sadly went back to France in 2002. We were like mirror images in our dance style.
I want to go on but the rules are, only 10 allowed.
So to all my other favourites, you would have been there if i could have 11 honest!

Followers i aspire to dance like.

    Lily Barker
    Emma Petit
    Kate Hargreaves
    Yuko
    Lisa Stott
    Victoria (Keiths partner)
    Cat (WCS)
    Sally (WCS)
    Nina
    Jenny (Bristol)

    Hmm, tough one.

    Leaders:

    1. Stuart Forsythe (just the best!)
    2. Joe (don't know his surname, he's a drama teacher)
    3. Andy Fleming (can make me do things in Lindy that nobody else ever can!)
    4. Ryan Francois (never actually danced with him, think I'd cry if he asked!)
    5. Nigel Anderson (the ultimate for dancing to his partner's ability, and making them feel like a queen, so lucky that his partner is Nina I guess!)
    6. I've run out now! Lots of other people I really enjoy dancing with, just none that I could put into any order!

Followers I aspire to dance like:

    1. Hev Mate! (So much fun to watch!)
    2. Nina Daines (who doesn't?)
    3. Rena Swanpeol (probably spelt wrong, just such good fun!)
    4. Nope, run out again, seems to be a strong Swing theme running in all of mine!

Nice aspiration - to be on someone's top ten list! (Depends on how many they have to chose from though - I may be on some guys top ten list here in NI but then again they haven't a lot of choice!) I can dream...one day...maybe even a top twenty list...

Re: Your personal top ten leads/followers

I dont know if i have a top ten, i enjoy dancing no matter who i am dancing with (unless they cant but try to lead comb leans...still in pain)!

I do have favorites that i always pick out at a venue tho, but i have to agree with lynn, does that just depend on the quality you normally have?

Also does your top ten change with time?

I would think it would, after all you meet more dancers and some might become favourites for different reasons. Doesn't mean you can't really enjoy dancing with everyone, but sometimes for whatever reason you just 'connect' more with some dancers than others and that for me, would make them 'guys I want to dance with'.

And D - you would certainly be in everyone's top ten in NI as well!

Re: Your personal top ten leads/followers

I have a couple of problems: I can't remember names, and I can think on way more than ten people I love dancing with (and will at any occasion I can)... In fact I think I would be hard pushed to list ten folk I could miss off a "favourite dancers" list

I think that the order of people depends on the track at the time.

Re: Your personal top ten leads/followers

Ooh, this is so hard (I managed to offend some of my favourite leaders by describing them as the wrong one (in their eyes) out of BTS or BTC, so I'll be more general this time, and In No Particular Order:

    Favourite leads -
    ESG
    Amir
    RK
    Latinlover
    Sheepy
    Spicy
    DavidJames
    SilverFox
    Simon R
    PaulF

    Favourite people to lead -
My lovely (but unfortunately non-forumetta) flatmate Vicki
    ZebraWoman
    Missy D
    CeeCee
    Helen (HML)
    KatieR
    Dee
    Dizzy
    PS
    Rachel

and after last night, CJ (yes I know it makes 11 but he's a guy so he don't count)- I've never met a guy that can follow so well! (well, except Andy McG, but then we're never quite sure, are we?)

People I'd love to emulate -
The lovely Sparkles - because she is just the most elegant leader and follower
LilyB and Mary - they make it all look so easy
um, can't think who the others that I was going to put here are now, so I'll add them later if I remember (it's been a long day).

    KGD
    Gilbert (Edinburgh, sooooo smooth)
    The Lovely Roy
    Bill

Hey! Not enough space on the list!!! Where will I fit in RK, Smurfy, David James, Clive Long, UP, Killingtime, Jammy, a lovely man I danced with at Southport, who's name I don't know, DavidY, Mr. Baah, Obi, Rob, John.............And all the other LOVELY guys???? I've now probably mortally offended lots of men I regularly dance with, by not mentioning their names. Sorry. You're all lovely!!!!!

Couldn't possible say, it often depends on the music - there are too many good leeds to mention them all and I am bound to leave one or two out - and you guys know who you are

Followers .... well can only say who I would aspire to

most of the top American female WCS dancers
    Lily Barker
    Jenny Thomas (Ryan's wife)
    Angela Andrews (Cookie)

I personally think the above three ladies are the best UK dancers that I have seen dancing.
