I have had to give away or sell more books than I currently own. No space to live in otherwise.

Give away or sell books? No...sorry don't understand... (Actually have to admit I have done this with some textbooks I know I will no longer need).

If I had a lot of money... give a proportion of it to various projects where I know it would be put to good use eg providing shelter for street children...pay off my mortgage (actually that wouldn't take very much!), rent out my house and buy another one to live in...go on a nice holiday...put the remainder safely away.
