Icey and I were cooling down at Hammersmith, when we spotted what we thought might be a "No row". In the interests of research we wandered along to have a closer look. As I am Evil, I wondered (aloud) whether it might be fun to ask one of the guys to dance. Icey dared me... so that was it.
Of course I got turned down
And I am very very very very sorry that I couldn't even get five feet away before I cracked up laughing. And I'm very very very very sorry that when I got back to where Icey was hiding in the corner, we nearly did a hi-5 and were both falling about laughing.
If that was you who turned me down, I'm very very very very sorry we mocked you.
Really.
*snigger*
sorry

For research purposes, what was the turning-down "excuse"?
A feeble mutter which was impossible to either hear or lipread - if he was cooling down, the fans were over there >>>>>>>>>>>>Originally Posted by DavidJames
Unless I'd been walking backwards I couldn't have seen, but Icey said he was definitely giving us an Evil Glare - well, I was skipping with glee and clapping my hands and she was having to hold on to the doorframe so she didn't collapse - I wonder if he's all paranoid now?
He's probably on here, recognised the pair of you and decided to take cover!

Keep up the good work, LMC & Icey.

I'm sorry, LMC, but what is a "No row"? Is it basically a row of people who say "No"?Originally Posted by LMC
There was a guy at the Edinburgh party (the one a couple of months back) who made us chuckle when we saw he was wearing a shirt and jumper. We thought it seemed unlikely that he was there for the dancing .

Don't jump to conclusions mate, there's a gentleman in Glasgow, who I have fab dances with, who usually sports some sort of jumper.....................even when it's roasting! Guess he just likes woolOriginally Posted by killingtime

I'd like to pay tribute to LMC and Icey, for instigating what may turn out to be the most dramatic cultural innovation since the Department of Wiggling.
I'm talking, of course, of the abolition of the hotshot.
No longer will people need to feel disappointed when turned down for a dance, since in one deft action, the girls have turned the Modern Jive world on its head, and made it an achievement to be turned down.
I can see it now... one point for a refusal with an excuse, two points for a simple shake of the head, and three points for the full-monty "look up and down and sneer" thing.
I think everyone wins. The hotshots don't have to feel "got at" any more or guilty for dancing with the people they want to dance with, since they are now contributing to a whole new source of entertainment ... the turn-downees can accumulate points and outdo one another... and those that are happy to just work on their dancing without worrying about whose A-list they're on can do that.
Fantastic.
Consider me informed ; I was jumping to a conclusion. I didn't actually confirm one way or another in the evening. It must get very hot though.Originally Posted by Tiggerbabe
