Bad, terrible news (for the Scottish People)

    Hiya all....

As it says above, something awful is coming to Scotland Ceroc.

    Me!!

Looks like I'm going to be in Scotland from Friday 17th to Sunday 26th January. I plan on doing lots of dancing (I hope someone is going to tell me where to go (the venues, as opposed to anything else that might be taken to mean)), lots of sightseeing (tour guides most welcome), and maybe even some ski-ing (if you have any snow by then).

Look forward to seeing you all (least, the forum members actually in Scotland that is) then....

    Visit To Scotland

There is a Dance weekend in Marco's Edinburgh on the 18th and 19th of January, run by Boogienights (mentioned on another thread, somewhere).Alternatively, you could always busk in Perth on Saturday 18th, for Franck and then travel up to Aberdeen for their party in the Northern Hotel!!
Thursday 23rd is the Grand opening night in Sportsters, Perth, which is the launch of Franck's new Ceroc venture!!
And of course there will be the end of month party in Marco's on the 25th !! Added to that there are all the regular Ceroc nights in Glasgow, Edinburgh , Aberdeen and Dundee where, you will of course, be made very welcome, especially Dundee where we specialise in friendly welcomes!! I can't give details about the other venues, but Dundee is Wednesday nights in the Olympia Leisure Centre.
Of course, if you get bored with Ceroc, there are sure to be the odd Burns Supper or two that you can go to, being that time of year. (25th January)I will personally going to a Burns supper on the 24th at Piper Dam, near Dundee, you are welcome to come along- the only drawback being that half my school choir will be there too!! Still, you could help me keep them in order!!LOL

    Heather,

Well Mr Tramp, I consider myself a veritable expert on Ceroc in Scotland after my little voyage north of Hadrian's Wall a couple of weeks ago.

If your experience is anything like mine was then you are in for an excellent time. And you'll be pleased to know that your song recommendation (All that Jazz) seems very popular up there now.

One thing though, you didn't actually say where in Scotland you are going.

    Have a good time.

    Hiya Will....

The reason I didn't say where in Scotland I'm going, is cos I'll be trying to see as much of it as you can in a week

    Have car, will drive!!

Thanks for the info so far Heather. Pray tell. What exactly happens at a Burns Supper?? Pardon my ignorance!

I'm just not going to make any of the obvious comments on this one!! I'm far too sweet and innocent for that!!

Anyhoo, back to my original question. Is anyone other than Heather going to tell me where to go???

    Not at all

Don't forget that I usually dance 5-6 nights a week anyhow. (And I once danced 24 nights in a row). I'll be fine. I think!

Can't wait for lots of dancing up there!!

    Sound advice from Lindsay.

The recent Route 66 Xmas party was a brilliant evening www.route66jive.com . The January night on Friday 17th should be worth checking out.

I've also been to most Boogie Nights events and they're all first class - very well organised with the best teachers around www.boogienights.net

Okie, so here's the plan so far....

Route 66 sounds like a plan on the Friday night. Just depends on how long it takes me to get up there. It's only 420 miles. Piece of cake.

Saturday, I think I'll do the Perth busk (Do you need an extra beginner male Franck?). And then Aberdeen in the evening.

Sunday, the Boogie Nights party sounds well worth a visit.

    Monday, Still waiting for offers....

    Tuesday, See Monday.

Wednesday, I think I hear Dundee calling.

Thursday, I think will either be the opening night in Perth, or the night in Aberdeen. Will decide nearer the time.

On Friday, how could I possibly miss out on a Burns night, and an English sacrifice, and a Scotsman with his sgian dubh out. Not to mention all those kids!!

    Saturday, Party at Marco's.

Sunday, I have to go home But you'll all be glad to see the back of me!!

Now then, all I need now, are the tour guides and some snow!!

    Good plan so far...

A couple of minor problems... Unfortunately, the Northern Hotel (Venue for the Aberdeen Party on Saturday, have just done the dirty on me and cancelled my booking (in favour of a bigger booking :reallymad )
At the moment, my 2 options are to move the party night to the Friday night in Peterculter (assuming it is still available) or find a venue at the last minute for the Saturday night... I'll keep you posted.

Re. the Monday night, I would be honoured to welcome you to my humble night in Glasgow... One of the quieter nights in Scotland, but loads of good dancers and plenty of dance floor space! (you'll have to make do with the weird teacher and even weirder DJ )

On the Tuesday night, you could try Obi's night in Edinburgh, in St Stephens.

You are obviously more than welcome for the busk in Perth (Beginners are best in my opinion, as they encourage more new members!) on Saturday 18th, and I will buying drinks / food afterwards, so it should be a good opportunity to socialize

If you can make it, the opening night in Perth, on the Thursday, should be good, as it will be free, it should be busy, but the venue can take it!

You can find maps to all Scottish venues from the 'classes' link on the cerocscotland.com website.

Email / PM me for more details / directions.

    Franck.

Ack What a bummer about the Saturday night Go for another venue on the Saturday if there's one available!!!

On the Monday, I was planning on visiting Glasgow. Janet told me that it has to be so. Where do I join the queue for dances with the teacher and the DJ??

Tuesday sounds like a plan in Edinburgh. I think that was probably the favourite. Just wanted to see if there were any other options.....

Look forward to seeing you on the Saturday in Perth! Might well come to Perth on the Thursday then - unless Lisa is teaching in Aberdeen, in which case I might just have to go there

I'll have all my maps ready to go for when I'm up there. Hiring a car for the 10 days, so I'll be fully mobile now.

*Newsflash* I'm now staying up on the Sunday night (the 26th). Is there any dancing that night???

I am sooooo looking forward to meeting you all. Except CJ of course
