Or how asking them to dance, be turned down (of course!) and then jump up and down with a huge grin on your face, kiss them enthusiastically and say "Thank you so much! I bet my friend that you would turn me down and I've just won £10!".
having just read and LOL at the "Saying No! thread there's godda be mileage in ways to wind up a hot shot!
My favourite, a super cool chap who always says no (to practically EVERY ONE) take hold of his shirt and look at his and say
"Will you dance with me? will you!! will you !!!"
He laughed and did
and it still works!
I vary it with taking his shirt and saying in a whiny demanding voice "My turn!!"
(he must have a kid 'cas he sofalls for it!)

Ultimate put-down, happened to me
When they make an excuse, (resting, drinking etc) sit down next to them and say sweetly, Awe, that's fine, I just wait here, right next to you, untill your ready!

I'm regularly asked this one. Usually just after they ask me "what dance is it that you're doing?"Originally Posted by DavidJames

ask his mate to dance..
...and ask his mate to ask his mate to ask YOU to dance...
preferably in front of the hot shot who turned you down a few minutes ago
And ask his mate to ask his mate to make you look really good,
and thank you loudly
and say ...
(fill in the rest for yourself) This is getting too self indulgent and sad!

Compliment an area of their dancing they don't know about and won't like when they find out. Bonus marks for just making something up.
Eg, for someone who takes their dancing too seriously: "I love that cute little head shimmy you do during the arm jive. It looks so silly - cracks me up every time!"
