    RE:Jango - What to expect?

    Hiya All,

    RE:Jango - What to expect?

Will be in London for the last week of this month....
.... Aiming to do the Jango class 26th, Hammershmith!

What is it like? (The class? The style? etc)

I've being doing a bit of Arg. Tango for the last few weeks, but not the actual jive/Tango fusion style itself...

I remember when Will and Kate came to bristol (Last year was it?!?!) to teach a bit of Jango... They were admazingly classy moves... but we found it really tricky to smoothly freestyle! I'm hoping this time round would be easier! (Also did a Amir and Kate class in Brighton... and the same situation! )

    All the best

Whenever I have been I have found the Jive part of the JANGO challenging and manageable but the tango part challenging and needs plenty more practice.

This is always going to be the case as the Tango is very precise, involves very specific footwork and weight transfers.

The mixture of the 2 styles "fused" together (13 amp I think is required!) makes for a entertaining lesson and it is really well taught.

Magic freestyle for dessert with Toby on the decks.

    Hiya Par,

    Sounds good!

Tango is great... totally different mindset, and actually pretty theraputic...

But I'd really like to get back to some Leroc as well, and thrash out some moves to club music etc....

Tango/Jango tho...to be able to throw in some really classic moves, in those quite moments.... would be really cool as well... a nice contrast, and breaks up the night....

    Cheers

    Aberdeen huh?

... bit of a trek for a dance! Some serious dancers on this forum!

Have a party on this Sat so can't make it.... and if it is a trip up north, then a bit more planning is needed!

I hear there are Championships going on up there.... sept? The crazy mob from Bristol may be going... I'll see then about visiting your fair country!

Better get onto your "profile" page (User CP) and put your location down: for all I know, you could dance in Aberdeen.

Nope - they're in Mussleburgh; Edinburgh. (I think) quite a bit away from Aberdeen (where we have a Tango themed weekend of workshops and partys kicking off in... 53hours {approx} )

but you had better take more than a weekend if you want to see any of the country.
