Re: Moves From Heaven (and why)

Has been my fave move for most of this year...

not sure of it's proper name, but it could be the

*stopped for a break, she's looking fantastic and stylish, oh my God, what is she doing with her " , wow , oh, mmm , ayya , woah , don't woah , cool " foot move*

That, or the full windmill, into assisted spin, throwaway spin then dip just at that time in the music

I have just read that a second time. The first time I thought aw I wish I could do that really well the way some girls do....Now I'm thinking - you're not talking about my foot move , surely?

Full Windmill ??? Please no There are so many lush ways to get to that point. How about n assisted spins into a dip at that time in the music *.

    * n being the number that you need to line up with the music (1< n < The lady's max spin number)

FYI For a sober ZW n=17 or maybe more , for drinking ZW n=2

Sure am. With apologies for missing out a couple of smillies in the description.

Sometimes the windmill is the right choice because it has that "any second now, it could go pear shaped unless my *lead/ my lead's lead (*delete as applicable) is really up to it" tension which is relieved by the free spin then dip.

Also, my assisted spins are only ever any good on my left hand .

Should it not be more like

    n = x - log [y/(r+s / l-u)]

n = max number of spins

    follower:
x = max number of spins follower can do in current state
l = body length of follower (in cm)
u = waiste circumference of follower (in cm)

    lead:
y = quality of lead of multiple spins (1-10)
r = rotation speed (2 for double speed etc.)
s = strength of lead (whatever it takes to make the equation work)

Why thank you CJ . It was an unforgettable move and I have enjoyed many a snigger remembering it too.

I have a new move ready for you now. Next time you're down this way - be sure to wear a kilt.

ISTR your windmills are very well led it's just one of my least favourite moves.

Left handed assisted spins are good for me.

    but Surely

F= floor quality, should be part of the equation

    plus

HL = hair length in ration to arm length (and whether people with glasses on are anywhere near )

    Very good .

Hey Andreas. Don't forget to factor in the gyroscopic effect of a short flying skirt (on the lady ).

I'm sure I do between 10% - 20% more spins with one of those on.

Oh and I agree with Lory - floor quality and hair length are definitely part of it too. Ladies shoe sole too, I'm sure you'll get more out of a leather/suede sole.

Back to the drawing board methinks......

Dunno, I'm still trying to remember what a logarithm is....

    Oh OK, then:
    - Right-hand hold
    - Mambo forward step (forward on the man's left)
    - on the man's rockstep-back, the man usually moves to the right whilst pulling the lady almost directly forward (slotted version, at least)
    - Keep pulling her, then give a little flick spin to turn her 1.5 turn anti-clockwise whilst you move back into the slot and turn 0.5 turns anti-clockwise to face her
    - Man should now be in an ideal position to do, yes, another mambo.

    I like mambos...

My favourite move is what's called a JP.

Male&Female stand opposite each other, mans left to ladies right. He turns her clockwise and quickly steps into her right hand side placing her right hand around his neck. He walks around her fairly quickly with his left arm out, his right now around her waist. She lifts left leg up behind her, left arm straight up in the air. (So she looks like a ballerina) Now this is a heavenly move!!!

Donna, are you sure that it's not that:

She thinks she looks like a ballerina???

I can't imagine any move where anyone would ever mistake me for a ballerina

If I've decoded the move from the description correctly, then I've heard this move called a Half Banarama. "cross-body right-handed travelling return" is snappier, though.

Hey, I did pretty much that once or twice on Saturday, except I didn't do the spin bit, or go straight into another mambo...

Was a total accident, just looking for a way out of the mambo comb I'd got myself into...

    So that's what a cross-body lead is!!!

No it's she is supposed to look like one. Some call it the ballerina. You got the WSM vid? You'll see it on there.

And I think someone who has black and white stripes and four legs could never be mistaken for a ballerina.

That would be what is also called a Crossbody Turn?

Yeah, logarithms can drive you up the wall Anyway, back to the drawing board.

Could be, I dunno. Any dance that calls a turn into a lady nelson a French Girl can call any move anything... I prefer my much more compact name

Re-resurrecting this, I've now decided that my favouritest ever move is... three walks forward.

I'm definitely getting simpler as I get older...

Favourite move recently is known variously as an "outside turn from closed", or a "whirligig". I like the variation led just from the right hand. Fun move, unusual feeling.
