    Mortification of the Flesh

Ruth Kelly (the Education Secretary) is apparently a member of Opus Dei. Some Opus Dei members use a Cilice.

Meanwhile, too many MJ women wear rings that mortify my flesh. Surely the only rational solution to this is for me to seduce them all, causing their marriages to break up, and them to flog their adornments to pay for more dance weekenders.

Following some of the links on Wikipedia I arrived at this description of love bombing.
Who agrees that an evening full of dance could conceivably come under the same category?

Hmmm, it's sharp fingernails, combined with the Grip Of Death, that does it to for (to) me... Nothing for it, we'll just have to wear gardening gloves, it's the only sensible solution.

Sadly, it's not like this at Leicester. Where is it you dance, ESG? And do they do flirty fishing there?

    From Wikipedia:

"Love bombing is a coordinated effort, usually under the direction of leadership, that involves long-term members' flooding recruits and newer members with flattery, verbal seduction, affectionate but usually nonsexual touching, and lots of attention to their every remark."

Definitely try Jango on a Monday night!

The Cult of Jango? So you need to work out who is the leader and second level 'disciples' (these movements tend to be hierarchical)... and woe betide you if you try to leave...

Hmm - Movements like these make you inclined to spend less time with your friends and family and devote increasing time and money to the movement, until it becomes the thing that controls your entire life... not like dancing at all!!!

(I teach on New Religious Movements, in case anyone wondered!)

Amir is the Leader (Deity) figure whose absence only increases his mystique. TwK is obviously the high-priest, with the mixing desk dead-centre stage as his altar in front of which we worship (dance.)

Will and Kate were last night's prelates, taking the introductory prayers (lesson).

They need to close the loop and work out how to divest members of all their cash though. At £7 per night it's too much of a bargain!

[miss piggy]Hrmph! [/miss piggy] So I still don't seem able to elevate myself above the level of tea-maker

    Mystic tea perhaps?
