Bye Bye London friends from Steve ! Hello Brum

    Hi folks

I am moving up to the Midlands and will need some Dance Classes! What is Ceroc like in the Brum?

I am really really sad about missing my London Ceroc and Fusion ( Amir Giles' Ceroc Tango ) friends but hey I think I am going to really enjoy my new job. ( Sorry about the late notice, the interview was on Monday and the job starts next Monday!!!!) I will miss your happy smiling faces and lovely dancing and the warmth of you guys. Hopefully will see you at weekends.

I will be going to Fulham for the last time ( for a while) tomorrow so hopefully will have a chance to say Bye to you if you are there.

I am thinking of doing the following in Brum:

    1. Salsa
    2. Ballroom
    3. Tango

    Any good clubs????

    thanks

    Steve

    Farewell Stevie Wong!!!!

Can't believe you are going mate, but the Ceroc London's loss is Ceroc Birmingham's gain I suppose.

You don't often hear of dancers with massive reputations in the Birmingham area (there are a few exceptions of course). So I look forward to seeing you help further Birminghams reputation and raise a Brummie possŽ to take on the might of the London & Scotland crews (amongst others). Actually I've got a feeling that Gus is from the Birmingham area. You might want to have chat a with him just to get a feel for how the land lies dance-wise in the midlands. I think he also hires specialist teachers too.

Are planning to put together a caberet team or just stick with giving a few private workshops. I suppose it depends on how busy you are with your new job.

A word of advice..... If someone offers you a "Kipper Tie?", You reply "Yes please, milk and 2 sugars ta!"

Hate to correct your geography but Manchester happens to be somewhat North of Brum .... a small matter of about 100+ miles!!

Anyway .... real point is that Brum has a vertiable conrnucopia of Ceroc clubs ... in Birmingham's generla region there is the Glee Club (Central Brum), Wythall (South) and Solihull (South West). I can highly recommend the Solihull club freestyles ... excellent.

Some pretty good teachers there ... but none prettier than Debbie .. one of my favourites. there are other Ceroc clubs slightly further out, e.g. Wolverhanption and Leamington Spa. Also I believe JazzJive have a good presence in the area. Suggest you have a look at the Ceroc HQ website (if you can find your way round that monstrosity) or better still look at www.modernjive.com, the authoratitive guide for dancing North of the M25.

    Salsa

    Hi Ste,
They have a good variance of Latin/Salsa in Birmingham.
Try www.salsacongress.co.uk they will point you in the right direction.
Good luck with the move & all that goes with it.
    Keith
Now you are closer will you be coming to the Blackpool Competition 1st March?

    Hi Steve,

Wow, even closer to Aberdeen now, when you coming?

My husband to be is from Wallsal, (not his fault ) and I have been to a few of the ceroc clubs down that way.

I recommend the lovely Vanessa who teaches Ceroc in Wolverhampton, the Glee Club in the city is nice and Birmingham Wythall was very welcoming and has a lovely venue!

    Happy Dancing!

    lotsa love Lorna x-x

Echoing what Lorna says, Vanessa went out of her way to welcome and dance with me as a visitor to Wolverhampton and I've also been made welcome at the Glee Club in Birmingham and at Leamington, where the venue is in the Pump Room of the Spa - superb!

    Gonna miss ya sexy!

Who will I get those crowd pleasing dances with at Hammersmith now? My bright green star has gone.

Seriously - Congratulations on the new job!

Looks like I'll be advertising for a new competition partner again soon (I promise to do advanced from now on... don't want to start that thread again...)

Have a great time up north Steve.
Be nice to him ladies, he's a real sweetie.

    Hi Guys

Debstar, I am sorry didn't tell you earlier about the job! I went for interview last Monday and started work on Monday!I am living in a b and B in Brum and looking for a flat. I will try to come back for weekends if I can find floorspace ( !) after my tenancy runs out in December. By the way relaly loved dancing with you on Saturday at Hsmith. You truly are a Debstar. It was brill!

Thanks for the info guys about Brum. I went to the Glee Club to see where it was and stuff. I met some people in the bar but was surprsed that I didn't know anyone!

When in Brum I may take dancing more seriously like do Salsa and Ballroom and Tango ( if I can ). I still want to do competitions and will probably work harder to try and win something this time.

    Rock Garden Gig on 8.12.2002

By the way Friends of Scouse Mouse apparently I will be playing a gig with a band at Rock Garden London on Sunday 8 Dec onstage at about 7.30.

There should be some record Company execs there.Possibly the head of Sony. I am doing it as a favour for a mate who is looking for a recording contract. We will have a full band on the night.

I haven't practiced properly for about 7 months and I hardly know the music so will be busking a lot. It will be interesting to see if I can cope.
