Well, unfortunately, it didn't happen last night after all !
We were told that it was Julian Clary's fault for being so talkative !
It is going to be rescheduled for next week some time.
I'll let you know the revised date as soon as we are told.
Apparently, tonight's "Strictly Come Dancing - It Takes Two" programme will feature three couples of non-dancers performing in their homes for a chance to win some dancing lessons from one of the professionals.
The format will be similar to the Saturday night programmes with the TV audience asked to vote for the couple they prefer.
A friend of mine, Suzanne, a cerocer who some of you might have seen at Camber, nominated her nephew and his girlfriend, Jon and Julia.
Jon and Julia were filmed dancing last night and Suzanne made an appearance pretending to be one of the judges.
Jon and Julia would appreciate your vote as they want to learn to dance ready for their wedding next year.
Please vote for Jon and Julia !

I suspect that they film filler material in case they run out of regular material. I also suspect that there is no danger of them running out of regular content. For example, the resident psychologist was cut short after giving her opinions on only 3 out of the five couples. As was said, Anton could have his own show, and the presenter is never going to run out of chat.Originally Posted by Bigger Andy
While the BBC may indeed only choose to use the material filmed as "filler", I don't think that they will go back on their offer of the free dance lessons for the lucky couple.Originally Posted by bigdjiver
It wouldn't be right to build up people's hopes and then dash them.
If they don't air the material, how will they decide which couple will win ? Perhaps all three couples will get some lessons ?
In fact, I would have thought that it would be a good idea to do a programme showing how mere mortals get on trying to learn to dance and compare and contrast their progress with that of the celebrities.
Perhaps I remember wrongly, but I thought we were promised Ceroc being filmed for the first series, and never happening. The BBC certainly has the resources to give all three couples lessons, and use or discard the material on its entertainment value. I suspect that the BBC 2 programme has been succesful enough to warrant broadcast time for experiments to broaden the format and appeal. I wait and hope.
Well, the clips of the 3 couples was eventually shown last night.
The BBC didn't provide any advance notification so even John and Julia missed seeing themselves on TV !
The telephone lines closed for voting at midnight last night. I managed to get a notice read out at the Ceroc class last night. Mind you, I don't know how much difference that will make !
Anyway, the results are (allegedly !) going to be announced on tonights SCD - ITT programme.
I had videoed it as wasn't going to be home in time (and don't like to miss it) but not watched it yet, was going to last night, if I had I could have voted. Hope they get the most votes.Originally Posted by Bigger Andy
Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, Jon and Julia didn't win.
Good luck to the couple that did win !
Let's hope that they make the most of it !
It surely has to be a prize well worth winning !
