Do you mean me Franck ....?? ..........'young'......just made my day

Can vouch for both venues and I reckon Stockport town hall where the parties are held is the best venue I've danced in. And the folk are really friendly. You'll even find Gus there along with Helen and others so both males and females will have a wonderful time. In fact I might be down there soon for a party......'changing places'.....so maybe time to dust down the red shoes:p

I feel the call of a southern tour coming on............ have to get down to London again.....despite what I've said but maybe meet up with you guys from down that way

Gus owes me a dance, he can cope

OK Gus for a visit from us Scotties???

Hmmmm..... I got turned down more times in Dundee last time I was there than I usually do in London!! Does this just mean that ladies in Dundee have better taste??

Now I seem to recall you telling me you got turned down once - and to be honest I was very surprised even at that...............the ladies in Dundee have excellent taste, by the way!

Well, twice actually. But I'll let Elaine off, since she had a bad back, and didn't dance with anyone that night.

I didn't get turned down once last time I danced in London.

    So there

    Hi there

Well to be honest, and I am not trying to be some kind of sycophant, probably wrong spelling! but both you and Steve look so brilliant on the dance floor that you probably frightened them off! they would be thinking theyr'e too good for me.

pity for them cos they could have had such good fun

    See you soon

    Sandy

PS Still hoping to get to Dundee soon!

Sheena is taking the proverbial p*ss. Since she allegedly asked me for a dance in Hammersmith, and I allegedly said no.

Though, I have to say that there probably would have been a good reason. Like I was about to fall over or something. Honest.

Still, we've had a few good dances since. (Least, they were good for me).

    Steve

PS. I'm hoping to get to Dundee again soon too!!

    Which is worse?

Being turned down for a dance
    or
Starting a dance, and your partner stops after a few seconds?

Sandy! - I'm not, I did and he did...........................(shattered my confidence for a good number of months.) Was the first time I'd ever been refused a dance.

What? A few of the dances we've had since have been good? Or we've had a good few dances since that were good?

    Explain yourself Mr L.................very carefully

    And Sandy -

I'm sure that Sheena has gotten me confused with some other fat, ugly, bald guy who can't dance. There's no way I'd have turned her down for any reason other than sheer exhaustion! Although, I was pretty tired that day. After the prize-giving at about 9:30, I was so tired, I had about 3 dances, then slipped out quietly and went home.

And Sheena, all the dances we've had since have been brilliant (even if you keep telling me how badly you're dancing). The 'few' refers to the fact that there just haven't been enough of them. A point that I'm hoping to go some way towards rectifying next weekend, at the Ceroc champs in May, and every other time our paths may cross.

Was that carefully enough for you??

Sorry Sandy When Steve said he'd dance with me soon - he meant in Blackpool - where I'm hoping to have a trip or two around the dancefloor with Mr Tramp (to make up for his dreadful treatment of a certain lady in London ).

But I'm sure Steve will be back in Aberdeen before the Beach Ballroom party in June.

You going down to the Ceroc Champs in May?

    Let's hope so!

Not sure but if at all possible I'll be there, if only to watch! I haven't paid much attention to the details for the champs so will now have to go and look them up You know me, I hate to miss out!

In defence of the Hammersmith "elite". There are many very good dancers who attend club nights around London who do their bit for beginners and to make their evenings a social success. They find themselves hitting the dance "ceiling", where they are hungry for a chance to extend themselves amongst dancers of their own standard. The Ceroc monthly dance at Hammersmith is one such opportunity. I travelled some 60 miles to get there. There are many others that do the same.
Whereas on club nights I make a point of dancing with beginners and trying to ensure that everybody gets a dance, when I made that once a month journey I did not want to be dancing most of the night with people who had just walked in off the street in search of romance, or as a tourist. I can see the situation from those ladies point of view. Occasionally it gets even more elitist, after Ceroc training days, when Franchisees and teachers from all over the UK come down for training. They want to spend their rare chance of an evening to socialisie with each other, not dancing with "hicks from the sticks".
