    Senior Moments

Last night I had a senior moment at Dorking LeRoc.

I'd just arrived and nipped into the loo. There was one of those paper towel dispensers and I was sort of daydreaming while drying my hands when I noticed that the towel dispenser had "Lady Dry" written on it. My first thought was slightly embarassed surprise that I'd used the ladies by mistake: I even checked the Gent's sign on the outside of the door

The fact that the Gent's had urinals in it never even crossed my befuddled mind

Anyone else willing to confess their senior moments?

    Re: Senior Moments

Being a REAL senior, I am allowed my moments – I had one a couple of weeks ago; I popped into one of the high street shops and was promptly given a shopping basket couldn’t see anything I liked so left the shop shortly after.

Halfway down the high street I noticed people were looking at me strangely – yep I still had the shopping basket on my arm (like a handbag)

Brilliant! Glad I'm not the only one who does daft things (only I call them 'blonde' moments!) They really just mean your mind is on more important things - that's what I tell myself anyway!

No a blonde moment is when you take the basket back to the wrong shop

Quite!! My mind was definitely on more important things when I used the cash point a while ago. I collected my money and my receipt and said 'thank you' to the expectant cash machine..........

Then there was the time that I took my seat belt off before disconnecting my hands free kit from it - found my head shot to the side when you do that....

Or my ultimate........closing the car door, but forgetting to remove my head!!

I am blonde by the way........

I asked a colleague where my glasses were and he replied that they were on the end of my nose as I was wearing them.

A few years ago I went home with a terrible headache complaining of blurred vision...turns out I was wearing my glasses AND my contact lenses at the same time...

    Re: Senior Moments

I was dancing away last Friday at Hipsters and a guy with longish thick wavy hair walks past ... So I shout out, 'Hi Marc!' Before realising that I was actually dancing with Marc at the time!!

    Does that count?

And as for Marc fondling a small brunette's hair in the queue for fast food, thinking it was me, when he hadn't realised I'd nipped over to the next counter for coffee. I could see it was about to happen, but was too far away to do anything. It was too funny to want to stop, though - they both jumped a mile and I've never seen Marc look so embarrassed!!

As I walked across my supermarket car park, I was admiring a rather stylish car parked in one corner. I then noticed a TOG sticker in the rear window and rushed over for a closer look. As I peered into the interior, I realised that the car was ..............mine I'm starting to worry as this has happened more than once. Perhaps I should change my car to something that I won't notice.

Having a glass of wine at a friend's house in the wee sma' hours after a night out...hearing The Drifters singing "Come on over to my place..." jumping up and saying "I love this song. let's dance!" only to hear the lyrics "hey Girl we're having a wimpey.." It was the radio and it was an advert... talk about sitting back down again sharpish!!!

    Re: Senior Moments

Beginning to look as if it's only women ( and Andy) who have senior moments. Maybe the men are just too embarrassed to say anything ................or they never experience such moments !

Remember Dave Allen recounting stories od senior moment seg going upstairs to get somehting and forgetting what it was he was there to get ! And then getting to a stage where he would find himself on the stairs and forget if he was going up stairs to get something or dowstairs !!

Rachel, I don't believe either you or Marc are anywhere near qualifying for "Senior" moments yet, maybe it should come under the heading "Blinded by love"?

Which reminds me of an incident on the ski and dance holiday a few years ago. One of the skiers saw her husband stopped on the piste ahead, so she skis up behind him, puts her hand through his legs, and grabs a handful. He jumped almost right back up the mountain!
And so did she, when her husband, (wearing an identical ski suit), skied up just at that moment to join them!
