    Cool moves.........

    Moves for the hot weather?

Thought it may be appropriate to use moves such as the eskimo or penguin - can anyone else think of appropriately named moves??

But don't anyone dare lead the underarm duck under thingee - at any time of year, it is a horrible, horrible move, but in this heat?

Anything which keeps the arms raised (safely!) like an arm jive. The cross position is also useful, though if it turns into a Lydia then it makes me sweat more so it kind of defeats the purpose

And finding a venue with aircon like Marco's is useful too

There's the Titanic -- the lady does a Kate Winslet impression -- don't think you can get cooler than a damn great iceberg.
There's a first move checked variation called an eskimo roll -- just a bit more in the hips.
I guess you could also do the fountain.
Howabout that perennial ladies favourite: the windmill .

For the guys, just lead the lady into some fast multiple turns -- you can get quite a cooling draft if you spin them fast enough

P.S. I usually do the loiter with my back facing the fan -- while dancing that's usually quite cooling.

I thought it was a little unfortunate that last night's "fixed" beginners' routine (presumably at all Ceroc venues) included a shoulder slide and a slow comb. Neither were fun to lead with a sweaty back or neck.

Did any teachers change this routine because of the heat?
