Anna: " Uhh thanks.. listenIgottagoI'llcatchyoulateryeah? Cool, bye!" *Runs away into the darkness of the club*

It's always lovely to get compliments when you go on these dance weekends. One that made me feel good at Southport was Silver Fox asking me to dance and then asking if he might have another later. I'd seen him at Camber previously and plucked up the courage by the end of the wkend to ask for a dance but it was not my best and I got the impression he couldn't get away fast enough! I hadn't managed to pluck up courage to ask again. so thanx SF x

    Why, thank you.

I don't know who you are though.

What with me being "A Ramekin" (© Cruella) you could only have been: a) a fab dancer; b) really cute; or c) both.

    Reputation? Me?

I still don't know who you are though. What room did we dance in at Southport? What do you look like? What were you wearing? What are you doing on Tuesday?....

Of course I do really know who you are. I'm not the type of guy who just randomly asks people out.

I'm very pleased to announce that my reputation is untarnished because you are most definitely option c) both, a wonderful dancer and seriously cute.

    How about the following weekend?........

Talking of counting posts, can anyone out there in Forum land spell the word losing correctly? There are 51 different threads with it spelt loosing. Fascinating huh? *sad geek smiley*

    Re: Dance Related Compliments...

On Wednesday at Ashtons, this guy came flying over to ask me to dance, I'd never seen him before, and we had a really nice dance.

Part way through the dance I heard him say to me "I've been aspiring to dance with you", to be honest, I was totally blown away (I'm no Nina Daines!) but unbelievably flattered!

It turned out that, what with the loud music and all my spinning around, what he'd actually said was "I'm perspiring dancing with you", but he did mean it as a compliment.

    Re: Dance Related Compliments...

The best compliment recently: I was chatting to my partner pre-dance, something like:
    F: "The floor's a bit sticky today, isn't it?"
L: "Oh? I don't notice. My shoes stick to nothing."
    F: "Whatever."

So, we start dancing, and it all seems to go well. Halfway through the dance, she says to me, slightly enviously, "I want shoes that stick to nothing!".
    Best shoes ever.

I had a funny one from a guy the other week who said, "How are you doing that?" He'd had a few beers and I wonder now if he was seeing double?

    Re: Dance Related Compliments...

I was standing on the floor last night after one dance ended while the DJ made a couple of announcements when a guy I've danced with semi-regularly since I was an absolute beginner came up behind me, placed his hands firmly on my hips and dragged me backwards to the edge of the floor, telling me "The next tracks' mine"... Not many people would have got away with that, but it's nice to be wanted (in fact, he asked to carry on for a second as well ). Made my night

    Re: Dance Related Compliments...

Recently I've had a few comments of the same nature that puzzled me:
Ladies thnking me and saying it was a good dance... with a surprised tilt in their voice or a "wasn't it?"

What's so surprising about having a good dance with me?
