I had a good one yesterday. After dancing to "Toxic" my partner smiled and said "That was mad" Considering that my partner was Mrs Andy McGregor, I think that took some doing
I was told last week at the end of a dance: "You have a lovely rhythm for dancing".
I'd had a great evening anyway, but that was the icing on the cake!

I was told last night by a friend that she had been watching me do some of the dirty dancing moves from the Daventry thing, and that I looked "very rauchy"! I wasn't expecting that at all, and it's nice to know I looked like that rather than just looking silly (which was always a possibility!)
That is some recommendation!Originally Posted by clevedonboy

I presume you mean raunchy?Originally Posted by Trish
The best compliment I've ever had was at a dance weekender recently.
I'd just had 2 lovely dances with one of my favourite dancers (actually - the guy on the very top of my 'list' at the time!)
and at the end of the track he led me off the dance floor and handed me over to his mate telling him that he had to dance with me next as he thought I was such a nice dancer!
I thought I'd died and gone to heaven
Although the weekend was only half way through I could have happily gone home at that point and been thoroughly satisfied with the whole weekend.
As it was I did stay and continued to have lots more fab dances but I'll never forget that moment . . . .
Yep - that's what I meant to say!!Originally Posted by Cruella
In all truth; I can't say I get many. Sob ;-)
But my penultimate dance tonight was with a beginner who I'd never seen before and this was probably her very first class. And it was so very enjoyable not to be worrying about my lack of moves and also to find her to be such a natural follower. For a first dance together the connection was fantastic; light but just the right amount of tension. Wonderful, and I'm pretty sure I lead her through moves she hadn't done before.
And at the end she thanked me "..... for such a gentle lead which allowed me to think about what we were doing." That really made this evening.
Three compliments:
1) "May i hog you" - Little did I expect 3 hours of hogging at Camber
2) A couple of refered compliments - Compliments always mean more when they come indirectly - " X said she had amazing dances with you at . . . looking forward to her next . . ."
The best
3) Silence and closeness at the end of a magical dance -
"When words are not enough" - a sigh and a smile can tell a thousand words - You know you don't nned to ask of she'd like to dance again
Not exactly a compliment, but whilst dancing with a lovely Spicey forumite last night, we decide to try and have a serious dance. Whilst trying to keep a straight face he comes out with " i don't know what to do with my tongue!" I don't think i've laughed so much in ages. It brings a smile to my face everytime i think about it!!
One of the best one was at the last Southport. I did manage to get my first dance with Nina in the blues room, and at the end of it she asked if we had danced before... when I said no, she looked at me and said: "Good Connection"!!

I don't know him very well but when I met him in ceroc champs 2005 and went to the party after, he certainly didn't seem the shy type. He's really funny as well but I think if you could make him blush....that i'd love to see.Originally Posted by Cruella
