Errrm . . . Why do you ask?

I only ask that as your question is very similar to your last one about who are the best dancers.

Modern Jive does not have a recognised way of determining the best as does, say, ballroom. We could all do an individual pick-list of favourites, but the problem with such lists is that it makes the people left off feel a bit bad, so many on the forum will avoid doing it.

It might come down to a popularity poll, or more of the fast-track networking that you see a lot of on the Forum. How would that help answer your question though? If you want something approaching an official best, you could run through the lists of winners on the Blackpool UK Open Site (and so on for the other competitions), including the pairs of dancers and those appearing on DWAS, and maybe that would answer your question.

If I were to name my favourites it would be a) people I'm close to (closeness often increases communication which improves the flow of information in the lead-follow) b) people who respond well to my particular style of dancing c) people I regularly get a buzz from dancing with. Some of these would include top names, but some top names would be left out.

    Fave followers:

Well here's my list (in alphabetical order (feeling suicidal enough answering at all)):

    Camille
    Cindy
    Janet
    Kathrine
    Siobhan
    Tova

There are some other follows (Nicky, Julie, Emily) who are also fabulous but I'm not quite good enough to feel comfortable dancing with them yet.

Before I write my list, I have to say, my list is based purely on who I find
    (1) Easiest for ME to follow
(2)who I feel most relaxed with
    (3) who I think brings out the best in me i.e. enhances MY style!

    Seamus (4 spins!)

    Mikey

Colin Chapman (he sings to me)

Nigel (what more do i need to say)

Simon and Mark from Bristol! (brilliant fun!)

A guy called Steve from Fulham? (who the hell is he? sadly, only met him a couple of times but we just clicked)

Young Jamie (only 18 and he's brilliant and the nice thing is, he doesn't even know it)

Peter (effortless to dance with, i don't even have to think!)

Will (on a good day )

Jimmy Nipples (married to Chicky, he's great! but together, they are awesome! we did Mikey's 'Menage a trois'
    together)

That's off the top of my head, i've probably left a load out! oh well!

    Tony M.
    David B.
    Chris A.
    Dave H.
    Paul F.
    Ed.
    David F.

and a guy called Steven from Portsmouth who hardly ever goes to Hipsters anymore, but used to be one of my favourites

Any woman who smiles, laughs or just fafs about (northern expression i think!) whilst dancing and does not take it to seriously.
I don't think you can for entrance fee of £6-£10

Mind you if it's £25 to get in i would want her to do cart wheels!
wipe my brow, do my intermediate moves for me and also have a pint of lager on the table by the time we finish the record...

Hmm, what's the price for Brighton?

I hope you've checked the quality of the applicants personally

Set myself up for that one I suppose, I do not normally dance with all of the people you dance with,

Would have to agree with Camille and Janet (I would get a bit of a slap if I did not include Janet). Julie asked me to dance tonight and she was heavenly too. Nicky can be fun to dance with to tough tracks, because she plays so well.
I would add Petrina (for fun factor)
    From "the other side"
    Deanna
    Adriana
    Debbie
    Caz
    Tricia
Manly due to the chemistry and fun interpretation aspects.

I'll stick to the Aussie girls as the list would be SO long if I were to include the UK bunch...

One more addition, "anyone who asks me" - love being asked.

You would certainly crack it on the "fun interpretation" factor.
Not sure how you would rate on the "chemistry" front

Forgone conclusion though, or as me NZ friend says "a no brainer" it is sure to happen at some time during my visit...

Still can't put you in my top 10 though
