Question moves music, and good dances...a query

Got a little question here and wondered if anyone else felt the same way.
While dancing I am concious of there being 2 linked but different parts of my dancing.

1)Thinking about the music and tries to make sure that I dance TO it rather than just WITH it!

2)Thinking about the moves that I am doing in order to achieve 1

Now while dancing with people I know well (1) dominates but when I try to dance with someone new (mainly people that I know are better far far than me!). For some reason I seem to concentrate on (2) and thus end up doing the same 4/5 beginners moves over and over again while trying to "think" of other moves, which once thought of have to be done there and then (to put an end to the 4/5 move cycle) this of course recks some of the musicality side of things....

As such dances with some new people always seem to be poor dances...

    Any ideas/tips?

Dance with them again so that they aren't new people?

The same is very often the case for the girls, with noteable exceptions, particularly after getting to "know" someone on here and getting a little of a feel for the fact that they are NOT going to chastise you or talk about you behind your back after a shall we say less than inspiring dance.

I am ALWAYS very nervous dancing with someone new (or even someone I haven't danced with for a while) and (unless they are complete letchy horrors) will try and get them to stay up and then even go back later maybe.

Second time is always better...hmmm where have I heard that before??

you forgot the eyelid flutter and twirl of the parasol...

I'd better stop anyway. Foghorn Leghorn impersonations in the presence of a Chicklet...there is no tellin', ah say there is no tellin' where this sort of thing could lead.
