    External hard drive

I need to transfer my ITunes (Over a 1300 songs) and photos off of my PC onto my laptop. Any advice what I need to buy and how much you think I should pay.

Plus how easy a task is this?

    Hope someone can help

    thanks

Hard drives are cheap, but it might be easier to use a memory stick, you can get a 16gb memory stick for £10 for example.

Dead easy, just copy the files from "My Music" on the PC to "My Music" on the laptop.

You could also subscribe to iTunes Match and it will find a match for all the music in your iTunes library and create a library in 'the clouds' which you can access anywhere from any device.
You can then download all your music to your laptop (the quality will be upgraded too).
If you have an iPhone, it will also allow you to download any of your tracks directly as you need them.

The cost is about £20 per year (though you don't have to renew after you've done the transfer if you don't use the service).
    Franck.

    There's an A.P.P. for that!

If you have iTunes I think you are allowed up to 5 apps on one network so if you havent already got iTunes on your lappie just download it and follow the instructions for home sharing.
Nevertheless I would still buy an external HD which I think will come with the necessary cables so that you can use it as your master storage device in case of problems with your PC/Laptop

    I have one of these

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/LaCie-P9230-...4849377&sr=8-3

    if you only need ITB

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/LaCie-Minimu...4849377&sr=8-1

But get at least, twice as much space as you think might need

Even if your existing computer may not have usb3 the next one probably will

Unless you're happy to lose everything from your hard disk, never underestimate the importance of a good backup!

Well I should know better because I have lost everything in the past, including my sons graduation photos.

I think I will go for the ICloud to start with and get an external hard drive to both back up an transfer all the other programmes I have on my PC.

Thanks for all your advice guys appreciate it
